Also looking at getting a PAR dog engagement gearset, 1st-4th, pretty cheap. Any reccomendations?

All I'll say is - do your research. Enough info just on this forum alone to make a decision about that type of thing...

PPG Dogboxes seems to be the strongest on the market at the moment, I have great results with mine. Just remember to upgrade the stock sandwich plate with a billet item cause if that fails then everything will as well. Have done over 50+ runs, all over 800-1000awhp going through it, you wear clutches out before the gearbox I highly recommend them.

there goes that idea then! must remember, you get what you pay for -.-

man up and get an OS88 sequential! :P

but def keep us posted as to what you do because ill be heading down the same path shortly so will be interested to see which way you go

Hi everyone,

About time we posted this up - here are the specs on our "NITTO" R34 GT-R:

STANDARD RB26DETT bottom end

ARP headstuds

Nitto Headgasket

Standard oil pump

Custom head by Mercury Motorsport

6Boost mani

Precision 7675BB turbo

Twin Precision wastegates

4" exhaust custom made

Haltech Platinum Pro ECU etc.

Upgraded fuel system

Splitfire coils

100mm thick FMIC

Custom i/c piping

OS Giken sequential gearbox

Power: 622awkw/845awhp @ 43psi (ran in 5th gear, to keep the 1:1 ratio due to gear changes, 6 straps holding it down)

Nicely done. It's no easy feat to make 850hp but glad to see you finally decided to run it and put the shit talkers to rest.

I can gladly agree that you indeed make over 800hp and am very interested to see you push that stocker as far as it will let you. At this point, even if it broke, you're currently making more hp than any other stock RB26 that I know of. Well done

Not sure if you are talking about Oz, or in the world... but Manny Cruz in the States claimed ~950whp for the stock bottom end RB26 he had in his Sentra drag car back in 2005, lots of people called BS - though the car ran mid 7s at >170mph and there is no reason for him to have lied about the internals - DSport in the US also had an R33 GTR they were claiming ~800whp for a few years ago with twin RX6s on the stock motor IIRC.

Not when it weighs 1700kg

It would either need that power with 1400kg to run 150 or it would need to make 1000hp at the weight it is.

Cheers Dan...

The Powertune GTR weighs 1800kgs including driver (we thought 1700kgs too, but speaking with Chea, it was 1800). Anthony & Trent are about the same weight & both cars are in full street trim with big brakes. We'll weigh NITTO in due course! :)

Mates vl calais 1400kg plus driver, with 385rwkw ran 139mph.

Same guy now has aprox 550rwkw vl running 9.0@155 mph.

I'd be more inclined to question those figures than Powertune's - but you can't compare them straight up anyway, unless the VL also bogged, and was running 20" rims wearing low profile basic street tyres. 142mph in a full weight honest street spec GTR with a 2.6litre engine (with stock internals so probably not big rpm) is insane, anyone knocking the time or power figures really outta take stock for moment.

I just copied this from another post......

I just ran our NITTO R34 GTR at the drags on saturday at Willowbank.

Ran a 10.39@142mph on Hero 255/30R20 tyres, Tein Monoflex coilovers, OS88 gearbox, standard 05U rb26 with precision 7675 turbo making 845hp @ all four wheels.

1.77 60ft

4.69 330ft

6.9 1/8mile (107mph)

8.799 1000ft

10.39 1/4mile (142mph)

Mates vl calais 1400kg plus driver, with 385rwkw ran 139mph.

Same guy now has aprox 550rwkw vl running 9.0@155 mph.

Slicks and auto vs Street tyres and manual... Thus why you can't compare times and mph

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
