Very impressive. How far away from a dragway? Interested to see the results!

The surge tank makes for a very tidy installation compared to others with multiple pumps. Any idea of the fuel capacity of the tank?

Two 38mm wastegates flow more than a 50mm and less than a 60mm - what is the reasoning for having two rather than one with a single turbo?

And what size and type of bov(s)?

Only about 20 min from the drag strip mate, should hopefully get down there before the end of the year, hopefully make a 10sec pass :D

Capacity of the surge tank it 5L from memory

Like Paul said, running the twin gates cause I wanted to keep it a true twin scroll set up

BOVs are just the standard ones but vented to atmosphere

Nice result joey. This gives me hope the 88/75 with full race mani on the 30 will be worth the wait.

Interesting to see how this goes.

More specific details of the setup?

How did you guys get the boost to come in so much earlier on the orange line?

Looks like by turning up the boost from 20 to 25psi

and I quote:

"The only difference in the two lines in the graph is that there was more boost added to the mid range for when i wanna bump up the power for the drag strip"

I think, and this is my explanation until I actually ask the tuner, because the boost was higher in the second line through the mid range.. The boost controller held the gates shut tighter not allowing any leakage.

there was no changes besides the extra boost through the mid range

Correct me if I'm wrong, but assuming the 32GT-R BOVs are the same as a 33GT-R they're gonna be sitting slightly open when in vacuum and as a result be sucking in (a very small amount) of unfiltered air.

Not sure how concerned you are about that, but it's the reason I stopped using my stock 33GT-R BOV and switched to a proper atmo.

Haven't even really thought about it mate, to be honest I'm not overly concerned, I don't think there is anything to be too concerned about :/

I would rather keep the standard BOVs

Haha vids this weekend :)

That's pretty much the limit of that turbo, we put more boost into it but it just want making any more power.

So we backed the boost off up top and beefed up the mid range..

Yavuz wants to put a precision on it lol

I just need to install a second 044 pump in mine and run the lines and mine will be ready for a tune with the 6262, if you hold off until then might give you an idea if you want to swap and if you do go the same or bigger

Ah excellent, are you still running a 2.6? what work have you got done to your head?

once the Tune was done we ended up taking the BW off and bolting in a 6466, didnt quite line up at the dump pipe though, other wise i dare say id be running around with Pauls turbo right now haha

Yavuz reckons response would be the same if not better and it wouldnt choke so much up top

Well after seeing the power it made on pump on low boost (around 375rwkw) i would have thought it would have made more power...

but by the time we played with the cam gears and got boost coming on nice and early we lost that little bit up top

at the end of the day the front fan is only 60mm and for it to make that power with that kind of response, i couldnt have asked for much more really :)

Little surprised it didn't make more than that, though still very stout power. Keen to see video :-)

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
