Hey mate good to meet you today ! Here's pics of that steering wheel I was talking about if I owned a 32 I would also own that wheel !

Hey mate,

was good to meet you and have a chat. Awesome 34R. I may get in touch with them and see how much they are. The 34R steering wheel they do is awesome. Wonder if it'll fit a 32?

Yeah, it is addictive. In fact most GTR parts are addictive IMO.

I have the same as well in my car mate ;)

Where can I get that carbon wrap for the middle compartment, gear boot and handbrake boot? I want badly!

Also what gear knob is that? Looks dope.

rhdjapan.com have all 3 carbon parts in stock. They're made by a company called "Superior Auto Creative", not cheap but they're worth it.

Ants has a Nismo GT Urethane gear knob

LOL. Edited my post after seeing that you had replied.

Champion.

Thank you very much. Props on the work you have done to your 32 thus far. Looks dope, many of us are envious I'm sure! :)

Mind estimating the amount you've dumped into it thus far? :P

Thanks mate. Have decided to concentrate on the cosmetics over the next few months as the mechanical package inc brakes, handling etc is pretty good now, just needs some minor tweaking.

As far as cost goes : I had a spreadsheet somewhere but I've stopped looking at it a while ago. They were a car that cost around the 100k mark when new so I dare say the average GTR build on here would hover around that number more or less too? Folks on here - Feel to correct me but that's been my observation so far :)

Was booked in for Winton mid October but had to cancel as we're moving house. Everything in life is being upsized currently, as the Mrs and I are expecting our first "mini-me" in a few months. Not much time for the car lately unfortunately.

Managed to get it out of storage and drive it to work and back to give it a run for a couple of days. Noticed the interior lights and rear lights are no longer working. Great. After a quick search it looks like there is no fuse and it runs off the headlight switch. So....

New headlight switch. $187! Pretty steep especially when you open one up and see how basic the design is. Thanks Nissan.

Wasn't too hard to get to the switch. Steering wheel can stay in place and just the cluster surround and lower panel need to come off. While I was in there, installing the new headlight switch, I found the plug now looks like this. Great.

Looks like the worn out headlight switch results in a short which then screws the plug up good. Not replacing the plug only lasted me a another drive until the lights went out again.

Thought I had to go scrounge around a whole bunch of N14 Pulars at the wreckers for a replacement plug. Luckily I found a dude wrecking a 32 and bought a black rear bar and nice un-burnt plug. Even came to my work to drop it all off. Nice bloke.

All working again. now. Oh did manage to make it to the SAU VIC cruise to Daylesford. She ran well. Met lots of great ppl on the day too. Needs air-con gas stat. Might get a mate who is a mechanic to gas her up.

On the plus side our new home has a secure double garage so the car finally live with us. Looks like it'll be a whole lot more convenient to get work done on the car after that ;)

Beaut.

Them switches grrrr

I think I paid about the same after going through 3 second hand ones.

Now I hear there is a guy on here that will fix them :(

Amazing how many little things need to get done to these cars now that they're getting on. Take for example the fact that I had a squeeky/grinding clutch pedal. No amount of lubricant could fix it. It ended up needing 6 replacement bushes from Nissan. Total cost $65 + labour to fit.

I would really hate to see how shagged one of those GTR's selling for 12-15k would be.

Shiv, you should come down to the show and shine @ Skyline Nationals cup weekend if you can make it.

I'd bet you will be a contender for best R32 :)

Plus we need to have some beers.

That it does. So when's the Exedy heavy duty going in :P

That is a nice clutch but I don't think it'd survive my fondness of hard launches.

Jarrod!

Definitely considering going to have a bit of a look. The car's good but I don't think it's show material quite yet :)

Beers are defiantly over due mate, we should tee something up.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
