I was fortunate enough to represent SAUNSW on the weekend at Nulon Nationals Round 2, which was the hill climb at Bulahdelah.

It was a great event with many nice friendly people attending. SAU put in a great effort!!

As far as I know I finished the event in 17th place (out of 50) with a time of 38.15s on my last run of the weekend, unfortunately Dave managed to sneak in front of me the second day!!! Lol.

The weekend wasn't without drama, after telling Hawko from MotiveDVD I would do a burnout for I snapped a driveshaft lol. Luckily someone I knew had a spare no there (I left my spare at home like an idiot) and with the extremely quick helpful hands of my mates we had it swapped over ready for the next run!

Anyway, I'll post more pics when I get them from my mates, but here is a couple of videos for your enjoyment.

So during the weekend I entered the Toyota Nationals which is held locally every year. They generally allow a small number of non-Toyota entrants and I usually jump on it pretty quickly. It's a nice cheap event and being local makes it even better!

Unfortunately bad weather set in during the weekend and we had our first decent rain in a long time.... Never the less, I went out and had some fun, and the track managed to dry just long enough for me to get one good skid in (for which the audience applauded and the officials got cranky lol).

Anyway, I always enter these events purely for fun as non-Toyota entrants are ineligible for trophies.

Here is a video of the second track layout we did.

And a pic for your enjoyment.

Nice R34, definitely a few ideas for me to...uhh....borrow? :whistling:

So was it you who put the Pedo Bear sticker on Fa57RX?

Cheers mate!

Borrow? Steal them mate! I wouldn't post it up if it was a trade secret :P

Why would you think I put the sticker on the WRX? :ninja:

I remember asking Drew about it and he said one of his mates snuck it on there, just eliminating possibilities :P

Shoot me a PM next time you're tearing up the mountain, I'm half an hour away and should come watch!

This weekend I did a 100,000km service on the GTT with the help of a couple of mates. I decided to go for a Gates Racing belt and then OEM bearings, seals and water pump. The car now has around 170,000kms on it but I figure with the abuse I give it a full 100,000km service would be nice for it. I was surprised to see however that all the parts were in great condition so I will be keeping them for track spares :)

I also have a new radiator on it's way which should certainly help with my overheating issues. I've also gotten a new oil plate (Greddy thermostatic) and will be buying Speedflow fittings and lines as I am over having issues with the other stuff leaking. That will be fitted in the next couple of weeks too hopefully.

Following,

So far so good man, keep it up!

I just read the whole 17 pages whilst bored @ work haha.

Keen to see what happens next!

Haha thanks mate, you must have been bored! :P

Hopefully some big and exciting things in the near future, but only time will tell ;)

Haha, yeah I was bored at work but your thread definitely kept me interested!

Good to hear, will be good to see. I hope you continue with the thread update, I've followed!

I am super jealous though as you seem like you have a wealth of choice in regards to Motorsports events over there!

Here in Perth we literally have nothing like that -.-

Lol, I guess it depends how far you are willing to travel...

I live 2 hours from Bathurst, which is why I make it to as many of the hill climbs that they run as I can (I barely miss them).

I live 4-5hours from SMSP and Wakefield Park, so it's always a trip to get to track days at them.

Not just the distance, but we don't have any cool things like Hill Climb's -.-

Just have track days and drifts @ Collie etc :yucky:

Ok guys, my new 50mm radiator arrived today! Big thanks for Christiaan (Aus) and Adrian (NZ) at Fenix Radiators for organising this for me so quickly. There was no stock in Australia so it was sent from NZ Thursday afternoon and arrived on my door step in Dubbo on Monday. Needless to say I raced home from work to get it fitted :D . I also ordered some new genuine hoses with the 100,000km service kit, seeing as I had everything pulled off I figured I'd replace them.

The radiator fitted perfectly, even with the factory fan shroud! It is a very tight fit with the air conditioner condensor still in there, and one of the lines coming off the power steering pump made it even tighter, but I loosed the line off its bracket which made it a bit easier and was able to bolt it back up afterwards. I'm extremely happy with the fitment, and after some intial driving around town and then giving it a bit of stick out the highway, temps seem to be down a good 15-20 degrees without question. The most noticeable thing though, is that after getting the temps up to about 80 degrees, once I had backed off for about a minute, the temps were noticeably dropping back to 70-75 degrees straight away. So good, such improvements, wow.

Anyway, here are some pics showing a direct comparison of the factory radiator to the new one, and also one showing it fitted in the car. You be the judge!

    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
