Coated I bet, they rust out from the inside anyway. Try fabricating a bare steel system without a coating on the inside and see how long it lasts. You would need to factor in the coating costs to compare them properly. E85 will limit it's life even more.

I don't need other people to tell me anything btw, I remove so many rusty shitty mild systems and replace them with my custom stainless, the piles of old pipes are leaving stains on my concrete. Do you want some? You are welcome to them.

Your choice at the end of the day, I hate seeing rusty shit under my car. I guess if your ride is devaluing to nothing then a few hunge is not worth wasting on it.

ummm how often are you under your car! :woot:

Kirawee Mufflers stuck a 20" long oval on the back of my 25T , I can't remember the depth and width but it is really quiet . It's an off the shelf Redback from memory available in 3 and 3.5" straight through . The Nismo rear can that was removed is larger area wise and I wonder if it can be gutted and rebuilt to keep the really big for an R33 can volume .

A .

The muffler is 7" diam. and 500 mm long. It might be a little squeezy in the length department. If so it will be reduced. The bigger the muffler is the quieter it will be without hp loss. It is fitted ith a 409 s.s. perforated tube. It is packed with a mixture of stranded fibre-glass and inox which gives it a higher temp. rating. It has a quieter, deeper sound. If the muffler was intended for circuit racing the fibre-glass would be discarded and replaced with gtb or inox. The perforated tube also has an expansion joint to stop metal fatigue when hot. The resonator is 4.5" diam. and 400 mm long. It has same perforated tube and packed with inox.

well i finshed my twin 3inch into 4inch yesty.

the mufflers are perfect, its quite as for the size of system and heaps of ground clearance........ plus it looks tuffffff as nails.

heres a pic, enjoy.

thanks for the mufflers AES nice work!!!!

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
