Hey guys,

I have some stuff in my garage that I would like to get rid of.

All items are located in Georges Hall, 2199, Sydney.

PM or call 0402 564 237

Item 1: Rays/Nismo LM GT 1 18 x 10 + 20, white centre with polished

Price: $2490

Condition: Lips have been polished up and look great. Centre’s are not too bad, id say a light polish and they would come up good as new. I’m getting rid of these because I have a set of Bronze TE37’s coming and just don’t have the room to keep 3 sets of wheels!

These are a 1996 build so I’d say one of the first set to be made. Look pretty damn good for a 18 year old wheel!

Item 2: Cobra Suzuka Pro seat

Price: $750

Condition: Brand new. I bought it 2.5 years ago and by the time I went to put it in the car, I don’t fit in it anymore. I’m simply just going to by the next size up. Would have less than 3 minutes total sitting time.

Item 3: Racepace 9.5 Litre 4WD sump.

Price: $1450

Condition: It’s an unused ‘modified’ sump. You send Racepace yours, they modify it and send it back. It has been sitting in my garage wrapped up for 18 months.

Item 4: R33 GTR sliding seat rail

Price: $100

Condition: It came out of “JAGR33’s” car from Melbourne and never put it in mine. Can’t see what could go wrong with a seat rail but I have not had it in my car to try it out.

Item 5: Tomei forged RB26/RB28 pistons. 86.5mm in size. NON VALVE RELIEF!

Price $200

Condition: These came out of my last engine when it let go. Hardly any wear marks on the skirts although they have a slight tap on the tops where the exhaust valves hit the piston when I smashed my oil pump. I would have reused them but I was going to use high lift cams and wasn’t sure if I was going to go down the VCAM route.

Item 6: Tomei 270 @ 10.25 mm procams

Price: $30

Condition: These, as above, came out of my last engine. The lobes are fine but there is some scuff marks where the caps hold the cam down. They might be able to be cleaned up. Nice cam for someone that wants some decent top end.

Item 8: HKB quick release.

Price: $100

Condition. Once again, came out of JAG R33’s car and I never fitted it. It was working on his car before he pulled it off.

Item 10: Ikeya Formula Tension Rod, Pillow ball type

Price: $200

Condition: In my car for 15,000 kms or there abouts. I only removed them as my roll centre adjuster kit comes with this particular arm. No noises from the pillow ball at all. These are high quality.

Item 11: R33/R34 Nismo Type R suspension 12kg/mm front 10kg/mm rear.

Price: $2,000

Condition: No leaks or bangs. The front’s were refurbished in 2011 by a company that Aaron at Import monster uses. Only changed due to doing a whole custom suspension setup.

*I only have 3 struts ATM due to the guy that did my custom setup using the 4th strut for a few reference point’s. I will get that back very soon.

** These are basically a Ohlins Flag R, just painted Nismo colours. Last time I looked, the Flag R’s were 650,000 yen ($6,000 or so).

Some more items I found today

Item 1: RB 26 head

Price: $50 or a case of beer

Condition: This came out of my last engine. It has some damage on the cam journals, missing 2 or 3 caps, every exhaust valve is bent but intake valves are fine. It has been ported and it made 426 RWKW at 24 psi using -5's. Maybe a few caps and a tunnel bore with some new valves would make it usable, I don't know. If it doesn't sell, i'll turn it into a coffee table.

Item 3: Tomei Type A springs and retainers

Price: $150

Condition: Fine. Came out of the head above. I'm not 100% sure on the retainers, possibly factory. These were in the head for 35,000 kms.

Item 4: OEM RB26 coil packs

Price: $100

Condition: I think we ran into issues around 400-410 rwkw mark. I believe IIRC we changed the ignitor at the same time. These were on the car for no more than 7,000 kms.

    • Well, the trouble with that ^^ is: The configuration shown is absolutely a 1-way, not a 1.5-way. There is no way that a 1.5-way can be said to offer LSD action only on acceleration. If Nismo cannot get that right, then it is impossible to believe their documentation. That ^ is not a 1.5 way setup. That is a 1-way.   And so now I have allowed all doubts to flourish and have gone back to look at the MotoIQ video. I originally made the mistake of believing him when he said "this is a 1.5-way" at the ~6:10 mark. Because what he did was take the gear assembly out of the 2-way opening and just rotate it one place to the left to drop it into the 1-way opening. When he dropped it in there, the cam was "backwards" compared to the correct orientation shown in all other photos of that config. The flat shold have been facing the 1° ramp side of the opening, not the 55° ramp side. And I thought, "gee that's cute", but I was concerned at the time, when he put the other ring back on, that the gap between the rings looked like it was wider then in the 2-way config. And then I said a lot of things in my long post on Tuesday that could only make sense if the guy from MotoIQ was correct about what he'd done. BUT... I have now done my homework. I grabbed a frame of the video with the 2-way config, and then grabbed another with the "1.5-way" config, snipped out the cam and opening of that frame and just pasted it direct on top of the 2-way config. I scaled it so that the triangular opening was almost exactly the same height in both. AND.... the gap between the plates is wider with the cam installed in the triangualr opening backwards. That is.... it cannot go together that way. There would be massive force on the plates all the time, if you could even reassemble it.  So, My statement on the matter? The Nismo diff is actually only a 2-way and 1-way. There is no 1.5-way option in it, regardless of what they say. Here's a photo of a real 1.5-way ramp opening from Cusco (along with the 1 way option). And the full set of 1 through 2 way options from their racing diff, which is not same-same as what we'd typically be using, but...the cams work the same. A little blurry, but it comes from this Cusco doc, which is quite helpful. AND.... Cusco do in fact do what I suggested would be sensible, which is to have rings that do 1 and 1.5, and 1.5 and 2. Separately.
    • Welcome Adam. Car looks great!
    • "With a 1.5-WAY, the LSD is effective only during acceleration."
    • Well it wasn't as easy as I thought.... and it also wasn't in my original manual which I did end up finding. They discuss the process in the Nismo catalogue though and it requires slight machining. Page 145.  NISMO PARTS CATALOGUE 2020
    • I'm an idiot, my intercooler is rated for 1000hp. I had clicked on the wrong product. Knowing the delta P would be nice, but I'm doubtful I'll do it. Now as for an EMAP, that would be great and I'll get around to it eventually but from my findings in my last post, I'm considering a turbo swap now.
