Get a lock up garage?

Insanity with an R34 GTR!! I assume you have off street or hidden parking at least?

I have a completely gated property but Shannons says because car is still visible from the street it's uninsurable for them

just insured my S15; surprisingly through VVC........though it's costing me more per year than my GTR valued at more than double the agreed value :-/

So i went on to say i'm guessing my GTR policy once up for renewal will skyrocket..................without confirming she did say that many things had changed in the last 6-12 months

What's the latest in the best insurer for 34Rs?

My policy is up for renewal with Shannons, they want to drop the value on the policy to 72k, I think I would really struggle to replace it for that.

Premium is $1363 currently, but will go up if I get my way and we revalue the car a bit higher.

Same thing happened with club rego and RWC in Vic.

Some twits made their own car clubs just for cheap rego and no roadworthy / pink slip required, as it was up to the club to deem it roadworthy...started driving their highly modified and race cars on the road so the cops and Vicroads put a stop to it.

Yes, and in Qld too I'm afraid.
Ah well, Mercury is out of the picture now - unless they play phoenix

Last I heard from @GTR-N1 on facebook is that NRMA aren't taking any new policies currently as they're reviewing their policies. Is your car a V-Spec or Non V-Spec?

I had a go an shannons because when i tried to insure with them they effectively gave me a dick to the face.

25k, highest i could go with my mods was 30k. Wanted $2000 a year.

    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
    • It's been quite the ordeal but hey, at least you figured it out.
    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
