Haha motor is out now they got you locked in. Brace yourself for the wait ?

Daz , your the type of bloke that tries to stop the world turning, killer of dreams and one that stomps on optimists, I hate you because you may be right, hahha

We will see , I have faith in these people to deliver on time, you blokes do not know about this type of build thing. Shit , I have been modifying cars for 8 months and know everything :)

Found the motor :)

I certainly hope so, that's how I would have done it

Build the bottom end before yanking the motor from the car then transfer every thing across, upgrading as they go

that was to be finished weeks ago but there was a problem, but the main thing is it is on the go :)

I can understand your anxiety and frustration.

My build started in June 13 when I dropped off the stroker kit and N1 block. It went into the shop around November 13 and I picked it up after run-in with the powertune sorted last Thursday. (There was approx 6 weeks of panel and paint sub-letted to another workshop early this year though that was the only 'side' job)

Though there are few workshops you can trust and expect quality work (especially in W.A) and it all ends up taking longer then expected due to other customers builds of course and usually a few hiccups along the way.

But the end result will be worth it!

All the best with your build mate ;)

Well , that story doesn't help , haha

Shat, it seems that it does not matter where you live the results are the same, they do it in their own time and do not seem to care about the time frame.

But this mob has done everything they said they would do for me on time so I still have a couple of weeks until they are over and it is only that I am getting nervous about my expectations of the results, it is an expensive exercise and it does not matter how many blokes say it is going to be OK, I wonder if I expect too much from the extra .6Lt to give me the response I want without pushing the crap out of it?

Time will tell :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Well my optimism is dwindling :(

RB30 block not back yet , I understood from a few blokes that this could be done quickly as it is not a big job for a well equipped workshop ?

Trannie pulled down, has a problem and still in bits , but no real problem.

Head still out being "worked on"

Asked for a finish date, could not get one :(

BUT I am sure it will be done soon and I will be driving it before Xmas :)

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
