3.5" is perfectly fine, just get the 3" section redone in 3.5" or atleast the bit from where the wastegate joins the main exhaust to where it changes to 3.5"

get the Venom 5" cat in between ?

Had a look at the Venom and they seem pretty tough

It's only the body on the 5" Venom that is 5"s, the inlet and outlet are 3"-3.5"or 4"

So I think you should get the one with 3.5" in and out lets and change the 3" part of your exhaust to 3.5"

Or if you are feeling rich or don't think you can take it with you get a new full 4" system

Understand, I think I will go with the Venom 500 series, 5" body, with the 3.5" inlet / outlet and have the rest modified to suit. I guess I can still use my high flow muffler :)

One question ?

what difference would a 4" exhaust system with a 5" Venom body ? hate dumping all the new shit if the difference is not noticeable :(

Pete you're on the right track, maybe try to find out what the cat actually is and also the reason for the diam reduction before you drop more coin. The only way to really id a restriction is to run it up on a dyno and back to back after removing individual parts. Did this on mine and it was interesting, I'm sure Jez could do it for you.

If you're concerned re noise, 4" will be good for grunt but probably also louder.

Thanks mate, I do not need it any louder.

So if I can get rid of the 3" sections and use the 5" Venom cat , it will keep it quieter and legalish

At 400-450rwkw, not a great lot, certainly not enough to justify the cost

If you had a full 3" i would suggest a full 4" for your setup just incase more powah is looked for in future but since you already have 3.5" just finish it off and it will work well for your current turbo

IIRC the 100cell 5" venom core will flow close enough 4" pipe worth of flow

My 4" system is quieter then the 80mm jap cat back i took off

Scooby already suggested but if you do back to back runs on the dyno you will see how much that 3" cat is actually restricting you. Definitely too small for the power you're chasing and probably not worth going to a full 4" system as mentioned so just throw in a new cat that is bigger and better and modify some flanges to suit so it can all bolt up nicely.

The question is, why the f**k did CRD put a 3inch restriction on this 3.2L engine with that turbo

I would have assumed they knew that it needed a decent exhaust to make power and response..

Hey CRD if your reading this, show me a graph where exhaust restriction with a turbo actually helps with response or power ya clowns

Or are you just playing dumb so you can charge pete for another retune

Its pretty obvious when a company is going down the shit shute, Pete is just one percent of their business.

don't give them any more money, if the problems do not get sorted, seek legal advice????

be methodical and not emotional!

In these situations it is only fair to give a company a chance to fix any problems, then if it is not done properly it is time to do whatever is needed to have the situation rectified.

I do not have to be happy with everything and I have spoken to them about it and they asked me to bring the car in so they can sort it out, they cannot do more than that. So I will wait until it is all finished before I start throwing stones . The distance is my problem but it is a pain :)

I will be asking about the exhaust today and see what they say I should do.

All of the other work seems great, drive train works a treat and I can see with a few tweaks I should be happy with the car :)

Some of the prices seemed high to me, especially the Tune and I paid over the quote but I wonder if I would be whinging if it turned out better, probably :)

On this engine turbo is the restriction!

why is that, it is good for over 700HP and it is nowhere near that ???

I think he's alluding to the fact that if you had a bigger turbo you could make 1200hp.

And yes 3.5in will do 600awkw so should be fine for you.

1200HP,haha, I am just after a strong , reliable street car and if I sort the exhaust out I think they (somebody) will be able to tune it to how I want it .

Went for a 400 klm run today and in my area there is some nice road to get a feeling for the mods on my drive train, went to have my AD08Rs on and the trip home was fun :)

But it needs to be re tuned badly !

Still rich as, and does not like to be revved , but even as is , it is a fun ride :)

Cannot wait to get this shit over with and see what I finally end up with?????

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
