Hey guys,

Have spent a fair bit of time reading through the dyno and results page looking at setups similar to mine but they seem to vary alot between tuners and other minor upgrades. I'm chasing 300kw, so would consider changing my setup if it requires.

I'm currently running

stock/unopened RB25DET neo

45v4 3076 highflow turbo w/ bigger rear housing & rb20 actuator (MTQ)

Scotty's hard intake @ Z32 AFM w/Apexi Pod

550cc Bosch Injectors @ Walbro 55L pump

Cooling Pro return Cooler

3" Turbo Back Exhaust w/ highflow cat

Nistune @ Apexi AVCR

Turbosmart Plumback BOV

How much power would I expect to make on my next tune within a couple of weeks?

If I wasn't able to reach 300kw, what would be the most effective/efficient way of doing so?

Any constructive criticism would be appreciated, thanks.

My opinion is yes you could achieve 300kw with those mods but that is just my opinion. I'm sure there are results in the dyno page from people with similar mods which should give you a good idea of expected power.

OR just get the thing on the dyno and find out what it can do. If you have confidence in the person tuning you shouldn't need to ask these questions here.

Thanks guys for the help,

Seeing as the car is not my daily driver I would consider going e85. I think I will put her on the dyno and sleep on the results.Would it be more cost effective to go E85 or down the track of a new/bigger turbo?

More like 250wkw, possibly 300 max on ethanol, depending on the rear housing.

If it's a Garrett core it won't like the high pressure in the manifold, it will likely cause the bearings to fail from too much thrust force, it's pretty common in garrett cored highflows. Be prepared to replace it soon if you lean on it hard.

Personally I would be ditching the turbo now before it blows and buying a GTX3071 or similar for that power goal, on petrol obviously as otherwise your injectors are too small for e85.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure of the turbine housing, Its a larger Sonic Performance Housing .73 - .82 as it does not reach full boost until 4300-4500. And yes Scotty it is a Ballbearing 3076 Garret Core.

Keeping it lowmount and Internally gated in mind, would the ATR43SS2 Hypergear with a .82 housing be suffice?

Plus: On my last tune, on 12psi it made 200rwkw

without solid intake & AVCR and with a massive exhaust leak between manifold and turbo.

IMO stop have a good think before you spend money. Firstly, is 300rwkw what you really want? I reckon they are fat heavy cops (assuming Stagea here?? or is your username a red herring??) and I would look for a turbo that has good response over more power but if you want 300rwkw then a GT3076 with a Garrett 0.82 housing will get you there or thereabouts on 98ron.

If you change to a Garrett housing then you need a new dump pipe so costs will mount up going this way.

An appropriate HG turbo might work out cheaper and more responsive?!?!

E85 will give you the top end you want on a more modest sized turbo so worth doing the maths on this as well.

Stagea is correct wolverine, I understand where you are coming from. I do like the idea of response. What kind of turbo would you have in mind would best suit the set up?

Why not just run a HG highflow for 300rwkw+ on e85.

Will likely need to ditch the return cooler per HG's testing.

Injectors will need upsizing.

Replace the avcr with something that allows gain adjustment, as you're loosing precious turbo response/ramp there.

Might need a new clutch too, to hold power... depends what you already have.

And maybe coilpacks if yours won't fire under high boost.

GL :)

If you can find a crossflow FMIC before your tune stick it on and see what you get. Clean your coils and gap your plugs down to .8mm. If you are far short of your goal get a Hypergear turbo and leave everything else as is. 550 injectors are heaps big enough Have you got a really good tuner?

Good tuner? Haha we will find out wont we..!

Ill post up my results

Hey guys, I ended up selling off my highflow like people recommended. Ordering my new turbo today from Stao. Looking at the ATR43SS2 Internally gated, ball bearing and with a .64ish turbine housing. If its short of 300rwkw on this turbo, at least ill have wicked response!

And I bet the changeover cost was not a lot. Its just the spannerwork and downtime - plus we all have thet built in thing that says....'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.

I think [like Touge says] you'll quickly explore the limits of the AVCR and will need to invest in a good qual EC.

But 300kw is a nice neat number IMO, response across the board.

Exact mindset I was in. I sold the turbo for almost what I paid for it which Is a plus. Unfortunately I rang Hypergear multiple times today to try and organise the purchase but I had no luck. With both phone numbers going straight to message bank, bit disappointing. Haven't driven my Stagea in 3 months lol. Getting pretty edgy now...

What limits does the AVCR have?? Always ticked the boxes for me, works brilliantly..

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
