You stopped queuing with me because you kept mid fragging against their silver/gold tactics and feared the deranking

sounds like 2 guys were in a decent accident at winton over the weekend. they got airlifted from the track. neither had ambulance coverage...

people are chipping in and doing fundraisers to help cover the cost. Discuss.

Obviously its terrible, im glad theyre making a full recovery. I'm not surprised, but I also think its pretty silly that people will fork out for all the expenses that come with tracking a car yet not have ambulance coverage, or at least some sort of health insurance. or is this some of that $60 helmet - $60 head sort of analogy time?

It always amazes me that people have this free money available to throw at whatever fundraiser / gofundme appears on social media, when there are already plenty of charities before the fact that they could give to. Seems only the stuff that confronts them in the face warrants throwing money at it to make the bad feels go away. Ignorance is bliss.

And yeah, for the most ridiculous things. Like that woman who got filmed on a bus by the students making fun of her being old and ugly...so ended up with like 80 grand in cash from people who started a gofundme. All part of that society that supports the idea suing organisations for millions will fix the wrong.

yeah im not one to donate to things unless there is like a personal reason or someone I know is making an effort to support something. for eg a friend doing a run for beyond blue.

but funding someone else's mistake... its like if i get caught drink driving and then ask others to help chip in for the fine because i got no money.

Can I start a gofundme page for VWL to recoup their losses from 88e?

100% of money raised, which means they got $2500 since last night.

looking at fb someone asks: " i was under the impression that when events are help at race tracks and the organisers have to organise the insurance (aasa etc) doesn't that cover things like this? " Which is a semi-warranted question, but also a bit ignorant.
Response: " AASA/CAMS insurance for is Public Liability + ambulance costs @ the track; it doesn't cover medical transport from track to hospitals and other medical expenses. Unlike an accident on the road, the TAC also won't get involved as it is not a road accident. This is why it's important that all participants read the conditions of what you're signing on for and are aware of the consequences of the activities we choose to participate in. "

the plot thickens....

Why stop there, we need one for the thousands of Chinese tipping money into crown casino and having to drive home empty wallet to a Toorak mansion

I guess that is a post from the guy that crashed?

Would assume if you can afford to track i assume a modded 350z prob can afford the medical bills

But who knows they are probably a tight run group, know each other really well so just helping each other out

Ahhh the old Aussie saying she'll be right

The other dynamic I find interesting here, that you've just put forward...would they be more deserving of the charity if they copped some lift off oversteer on a track because they were noobs, versus a noob mistake in their setup where we can retrospectively say "what an idiot, belting around semis in the wet..."

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
