Picked up this bad boy over the weekend!

Definitely sounds a lot better, just need one of Scott's front pipes now and the exhaust side of thing is sorted.

Lovely.

Having a PNM35, I have occasionally dreamed of having two of those rear mufflers. Don't know if they would fit on the driver side due to spare wheel well though.

Any chance of giving a height, width, depth measurement of the drum (don't worry about the tips) for me?

I do hope your Hypergear lasts, it's not a job I like doing twice...

By the way, the Intense RS is an extremely responsive billet ceramic ball bearing turbo, contrary to Tao's bullcrap above. A lot less shaft play in the bearing too. I have some great video's to show, but didn't want to ruin the poor guy. Let me just say clearances matter. *shakes head*

Scotty the old m35 turbocharger developed with u was a total disaster much to do with your Bunnings mod. looks like u have dogged away from internet for good no. of months. No need dumping shit bucks selling your offers.

Our latest development in M35 system still stands both power and response over yours. While Im a year ahead into rolling out m35 ceramic ball bearings systems when u r only making a start, Plus your re-shafted OEM cores aren't better then a Brand new Garrett.  let time and results speak for them selves.

Now now guys play it nice... I'm gonna stay out of this one, time will be the judge.

Anyway Tao the turbos at your P.o box today I noticed.

Got any front pipes with cats made up yet Scotty? My dump pipes feeling lonely without boys counterpart.

Without out it's counterpart* bloody auto correct.

Anyways, whilst the cars off the road I thought I'd tidy up the engine bay a bit and do some painting, gotta love wrinkle coat :17_heart_eyes:IMG_3075.JPG

Also got these delivered today and gave them a good scrub, got them for a sweet deal just need pads and rotors. Well they were cheap until i knocked one over on my brand new iphone 7 and smashed the hell out of the screen, thats gonna be costly :(.

Now to decide what colour to paint them..

Been a few months since my last post but I got the turbo back in the car a lot easier than I anticipated and have since put a few thousand Ks on it. Definitely has a bit more go on the fast pedal and no more Dyson vacuum noise thank god. Pretty stoked with how the wrinkle coat came out as well as the overall tidy up of the engine bay. Would have been nice to go with Tao's bigger turbo but considering this is just a daily i'm trying to avoid getting to carried away.

Also got the R34 calipers on the car along with some QFM HPX pads and DBA T3 rotors. This is by far the biggest improvement on the car so far considering how woffle the stock brakes are on these things, wouldn't mind swapping out the mastercylinder in the future to make them feel a bit more touchy but for now im very happy with the improvement.

Bit of a picture spam tonight but I also added a HDI inter-cooler while I had the car apart. Cant recommend the kit enough especially for the price, everything bolted and fitted up perfect. I'd recommend changing the rubber joiner in front of the throttle body as seen in my last post, mine was all hard and deteriorated and i'd imagine most others would be in similar condition.

Yeah there's a bit of a trick to getting it consistent, there's a post on here somewhere where someone went into detail coating some RB26 covers which is good for some pointers. A heat gun is a must imo.

As for the T3 slotted cant remember exactly how much they cost, my missus works for an auto parts store that stocks them so I got them for half price luckily.

Is there a correct procedure of doing to wrinkle paint?

Also what's the cost of the T3 slotted, need to change mine soon i think.

Cheers

The surface needs to be roughed up, Scotchbrite pads are good but sandblasting works the best.
Wipe the whole part down with thinners or the like so the paint will stick.
A heat gun is a bad idea to try make crinkle as it makes the paint really tacky, What I have found works best is a fan blowing over it or putting it in front of an air con on heat around 24deg to dry it, but also develop a consistent crinkle effect.
Bake the part in the oven to cure it but beware as it stinks when proper heat gets into it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
