CAR won't start after POD SWAP

So I originally had a BLITZ Pod filter on and decided to change it to a K&N Pod, and it was driving okay till about 20mins after a spirited run, at a red light it jumps into some sort of limp mode where I can't rev it over 2000Rpm even on Neutral. Had to make it home on 40kms. Engine light came on as well :S

Its a R34 GTT Automatic 98

I have tryed resetting the ECU (battery disconnect) same results.

I then swapped back my BLITZ Pod and now the car won't start at all, could it be my AFM ??

You ask for help and then ignore most suggestions. Work methodically and properly eliminate each potential problem. About every third suggestion is the MAF, Did you actually get a new one? If not try this:

http://skylinefiles.blogspot.co.nz/2009/07/how-to-fix-your-rb-afm.html

and if that doesn't help then check the plug.

I just got my new AFM genuine and nope still same problem what a load of shitz, I tried starting without the AFM and it idles perfectly and with the AFM it readjusted itself and stayed on after I plugged it in while the car was running. Still won't let me go over 2000rpms zz

It was the coolant temp sensor. Everyone is so clueless lol

Considering you created three threads for issues, don't expect further help with attitude like that. Remember, the people on here helping you are regulars and will remember you.

my apologies to everyone, i did everything you guys told me but i still couldn't diagnose it and got frustrated cause it felt like I was the only one getting this problem on a Skyline and nothing was working. So excuse my attitude if you guys got insulted in anyway. Peace

    • All I'm hearing is sequential swap time. Gives you a shifter, and crisp hard fast shifts. You can even use flappy paddles with them. You just can't give the shifter the side to side shake to make sure you're in neutral
    • HKS2530 frame and a newer CHRA plausible? like a g25-500 CHRA in the hks2530 frame?
    • Welcome back mate ,I also joined in the early 2000's , since then I have been in and out a few times depending if I had a skyline in the garage.  I have the another one now , so signed up and back with the SAU team.
    • I used "different strokes for different folks" quite pointedly as honestly, there is no wrong when it comes to choosing what you like.  I always day dreamed about flappy paddles with fast shifts in a sporty RWD Turbo and to me the sound and feel of it cutting through gears in a steady stream is exciting, engaging, and keeps the car better balanced - I *also* like h-patterns, but I find them more engaging and fun in a nice hoonable peaky NA thing.  Type-R Integra/old school NA rotary, things that are raw and need all the rpm where picking the gear and getting it sky high is part of the engagement of the whole thing despite the fact that they probably need closer ratios and faster shifts even more than a 3l turbo thing haha
    • If I wasn't allowed or really had the desire to visit China it would probably fit in my carry on, but I have no desire, Japan would be nice during Cherry Blossom time though I might need to chat to Jackie about that, that should actually be an easy conversation though as she is currently talking about another cruise, cruise ship to Japan, a week in Japan to see the sights, then cruise home I may even be able to find those OEM NC Recaro seats over there that I cannot find here 🤔
