classic. how is that chassis not written off...And you are right, other than the tags I can't see what is left was worth 10k let alone 17

was it crashed here....and either way I can't imagine the driver is well :(

At least the VIN is published (6U9000BNR34006310) for future reference. And an Aus VIN, so must have happened here, you would think a car like that would have been insured and hence written off? weird... I'm sure the scratches will buff right out, not too sure about the blood though.

Clearly driven by a 'tard.  The extensive earthing installation in the engine bay is testament to that.

If not wovr, then almost certainly not insured.  If not insured, then probably bought with money with difficult to explain provenance.

just needs a slight massage. shame it wasnt wovr prices, and i was thinkin i could get a cheap motor to get mine rolling.. the auctioneer was surprised at the price but clearly knows whats going on as he made some comments at the end.

Thats insane damage. I'm stunned at how relatively straight the engine bay is.

At least future GTR buyers might google the vin and find this thread. Nice work posting it.

Theres a GTR on gtr registry which is a Series 1 which has a Series 3 vin affixed to it with the paint code 1n4, which doesnt exist for GT-R's. Its the 2nd GTR ive seen with a definite "dodgy blue" plate.

Only one place that car could go........... Middle east

Will use a stolen R34 gtt for donor car probably lol.

Reminds of that shop (not mentioning names) that used a GTS-4 and converted it into a R33 GT-R and tried to sell it for a ludicrous amount of money

    • R34DE as in R34 with an RB25DE? So did you get this? Or you planning to?  I'm not really sure what you're saying.
    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
