@mlr you coming in your whooshy pssh sututu machine?

I worked it out, if I get up at 5:15am  (which I do most days), get the car out the door by 5:30am by playing tetris then be at Wilberforce by 6:30am.

At that point if my car hasn't broken down, or been defected then will cruise with @PLYNX to whereever

@niZmO_Man you coming Mr Uber?

Timings and start point

If work isn't a issue, I'll tell the Mrs that I need to do a "work thing"

My back is still pretty sore though, running stiff suspension, a fixed bucket seat with zero give, semi slicks still is hard to offset the adrenaline rush and GATE :D

I think having GATE makes the drive more enjoyable.

"Disclaimer: We all did the speed limit because we are responsible adults."

When did this happen ? I didn't get the memo  . . . I think !!!!

And as to the speed limit, we had too cause of the fear instilled in us by the amount of dead kangaroos/wombats/possums on the road.

On that did any of you guys spot the Kangaroo standing on the side of the road, about to cross, near the armor guard rail as we crossed the bridge on the second windy section ? ?

Scared the poop out of me ! ! !

Notice the blue R34GTR that waved to us as we were heading back out of Singleton at around 10am ?

Anyone know who that was ?

Yeah I did notice, I was too busy changing playlists on Spotify and couldn't' wave back fast enough

The only downside of a dedicated track car, I cant do these street runs with you guys :(

Would of loved to take my 32 up Macquarie pass with you guys a few weeks back, its like in my back yard lol.
Got a good video somewhere of a 5 minute run (no traffic at all) up the pass in my old XT forester.

I'm busy this weekend :(
Trying to get dyno time to dial up a customer's car, then tile shopping again LOL

Oh yeah, let's see how I go, I am craving a track day as well :)

Went (yet again) very early Saturday morning and stopped for breakfast at the Grey Gums caff for some breakfast.

Funny thing happened, a new black BMW M2 pulled up and I thought that looks a bit different so i took a sneaky look at it while the owner was in side.

I have to say it was a very nice bit of kit and noticed that it was a manual, that is a proper manual not a flappy paddle gearbox.

The owner came out and I complemented him on his car and asked him what year model it was and he said it was this years model.

He wasn't very talkative and said he had to go and left.

I followed him out and I can confirm it was bloody fast.

I'm thinking someones been test driving a new model

I coming over to the dark side !

Yes Yes I can see the dark side !

. . . . . . holy S%it  . . .Ive just looked up the price of the new BMW M2 CS coming out mid this year . . . its nearly $140K . . .

Hmmm . . . maybe . . . . . NOT !

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
