So let's say you have a 93 GTST, bone stock RB25 DET. You don't want a alibaba build but a budget build with quality parts. What would use to get to a dependable 350 wheel horse power vehicle? I am new to the skyline world, mine is on order at the moment and about 5 weeks out. So far, below is what I have picked up that I would need but I have no clue what parts/brands etc. Again, keep budget in mind if at all possible. No I don't want to LS it, thanks.

1. ECU (Haltech?)

2. Intercooler (what brand?)

3. Exhaust (trying to find a used one currently in good condition)

4. Intercooler (what brand, which model?)?

5. Injectors? (650? 700?) Max I would put the car to is probably 425hp or so. So, I don't need some crazy.

6. Fuel pump?

7. Manifold?

8.

9.

10. What am I missing? ^

Thanks for anyone that takes the time to share adult responses and assistful input.

adding info

Others will know better than me, but I'd guess a gtst will get to 260kw with a high flow standard turbo, powerfc, exhaust and possibly injectors. This is a well trodden path

Florida. But yes, I would like to know exactly what they are getting / prices and of course hp. :)

Australian prices or ridiculous American prices mate?

Put an ls1 in it.

God u Americans are lazy.

it takes more than 10 minutes to read through threads, see what has and hasn’t worked for various people.

you want people to spoon feed u all the answers.

keep reading, Google the brands people are using for various parts and then find out who can sell it to u the cheapest

All of this. You will need intercooler and larger injectors. Add e85 for around 300rwkw

You’ll need a precision 6870, 6 boost manifold, twin gates, 4in exhuast, cams, intake manifold, injectors, 3 fuel pumps, 100mm front mount intercooler, ecu, clutch, probably the a mechanical center put into the diff and you’ll definitely reach your 350hp goal with that

Ah the ignorance of little kiddos. 😂

Thanks to those that are helping and not still sucking on mommies titties

Good luck with trying to find a good used exhaust in America. If only there was a way to make one.

I like how your thorough list has intercooler on it twice. Seems like you are really doing your homework.

Also please keep in mind looking to have a dependable 28 year old car that is going to also make more power than stock and that has had the speed wound back a couple of times is a fairly  unreasonable ask.

Adult responses are always available, to those who bother to research, at least a little, first, Sarcasm is reserved for Oxygen Thieves. After all its a turbo charged straight six engine, NOT a Formula one conundrum.

You got it precious!

Triggered you so much, you feel the need to keep on and on. Can’t get me out of your mouth: 😂

Haha.  You really are going struggle mate. Best of luck with the beast when you get it. Hope it's not too rusty and hasn't done 500,000ks {odometer will show between 70,000 and 140,000 regardless)

Is the car you are getting an auto?

This guy is definitely going to have all sorts of pain owning a car like this.

You have to upgrade pretty much everything to get 260kw. The only difference between what you need for 260kw and 560kw is the engine build part. Still need every supporting mod, and buying a 260kw turbo is much the same price as a 560kw turbo.

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
