Hello From Canada!

I tried to get an answer from our Skyline forums in Canada but was unable to get a definate firm answer therefore I come here to ask the Skyline Pro's if these rims will fit my R32.

I have a 1990 R32 GTR..

I want to buy Volk GT-7 Rims which are 18x9 offset +12 (pcd114.3 5H) ... 245/40/18 tires

I need to know by tonight if I am going to be buying them, Will these rims Fit my GTR?? Some have told me they are too big, others have told me they were too little.. and I have also been told I will need to change the tire size and yadda yadda.. judging by this thread I believe they should fit but since I know nothing about wheels I'm asking for a definate answer from someone who knows better.

Thank you so very much!

Alex from Montreal :)

Skyline model = 1996 R33 GTST

Wheel Brand = Volk TE37

Wheel diameter = 17"

Wheel width = 9"

Wheel offset = +22

Tyre size = 235/45/17

Modifications to fit = None (front wheels lightly nudge front bar at full lock, otherwise fine)

Hey all hoping that someone can confirm if these will fit with no clearance problems

Wheels i am looking at getting are 18 x 8 +30 offset they need to go on a S2 R33 GTS-T and just want to confirm that they will clear stock calipers, dont need the gaurds rolled and don't need spacers... being a +30 offset does that just mean they will sit out a little more... hopefully still with in the gaurds

Any help would be appreciated :)

Cheers Leigh

yes +30 means they will sit out further, but does not mean it will clear ur calipers. To determine that, you will need to find out what disk type the spokes are...ie: O disk, A disk or R risk. You can have two wheels with identical offsets and widths but if one is O disk and the other is A, you probably find the O disk won't clear. This is normally located on the sticker or stamped on the inside of the spokes. If that info is not available anywhere, the only way to find out is a test fit :)

Refer to pic below:

Assuming they clear the calipers, 18x8 +30 should sit nicely within the guards on a GTST.

I learnt this through going through various diff jap offsets and wheels and having 4 pot calipers on the front for GTT brakes makes it that much harder to determine whether a wheel will fit or not.

Skyline model = R33 GTR

Wheel diameter = 18"

Wheel width = 10"

Wheel offset = +20

Tyre size = 275/35/18 all round

Modifications to fit = none!

i would not go much wider at the front....but the car looks sexy...

Skyline model = Oz R31

Wheel diameter = 17

Wheel width = 8F 9R

Wheel offset = 28F 32R

Tyre size = 235/45F 255/40R

Stud Patern= 4x114.3

Modifications to fit = Lipped front and rear just to be safe. Plastic guard needed chopping on drivers rear for the feul filler hose.

Well i can confirm the following has no drama's

Skyline model = R33 GTS-T

Wheel = Stock R34 GT-T Rims

Wheel diameter = 17

Wheel width = 7

Wheel offset = 40 i think

Tyre size = 235/45/17

Skyline model = R33 GTS-T

Wheel diameter = 18

Wheel width = 8

Wheel offset = 30

Tyre size = 235/40/18

Skyline model = 96' r33 gts25t

Rim model: Buddy Club P1s.

Wheel diameter = 17"

Wheel width = front: 8" rear: 9"

Wheel offset = 32 front, 37 rear

Tyre size = front: 235 / 45 /R17 rear: 255 / 40 / R17

Modifications to fit = none! Well on full lock the fronts use to scurb agains the plastic inner guards. So i just took them out.. no biggie at all!!

Hi all. Just thought I'd post this up as I have these fitted to my R33 25t after a 6 month wait for tyres!

Skyline model = '97 25t

Wheel diameter =19"

Wheel width =8.5" front 9.5" rear

Wheel offset =+25

Tyre size =225/35R19 Front, 265/30 rear (Dunlop Spormaxx)

Modifications to fit =Rear guards lips rolled. I had 235/35 on front when I first got these and had too much guard rub up front. 225/35 has fixed the problem it seems!

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
