I got the shocks, springs, camber kits, subframe lock kit, castor kit and standard upper mounts installed yesterday and I'm now driving a completely different car!! It's amazing!!!

I previously had some coilovers and they were rubbish compared to this setup... When I got the car the coilovers felt what I thought was good, I just thought you had to deal with a bit of bounce in order to have a firm ride. I had the coilovers for 15,000km and by the end they were absolutely destroyed due to hitting the usual big bumps/potholes of Sydney roads.

I have much less body roll now (amazing how little roll there is even without the sway bars), I CAN drive through pot holes and my rear wheels don't spin unless I really give it some. The ride is about as firm as the old coilovers but can handle bumps big and small which is very surprising (especially when driving over a gutter to go up a driveway). The bushes make the whole car feel very tight and there is none of the squirminess I was used to when accelerating, braking or when making a change of direction. On top of that, there are no clunks or rattles, even when going over a speed hump.

I got it all installed at Heasman's and yes - expensive. However, the result is worth it. Doug Heasman personally did the majority of the work on my car and doesn't have the "good enough" attitude - he made sure everything was perfect. I was able to choose the ride height I was after and am very happy with the aggressive stance.

I'm so happy that I didn't go down the path of coilovers again for their various gimmicks. The reality is that they're not good enough for daily driving around Sydney roads.

I have this kit too, and the above post is correct, the car handles so much better than ANY coilover kit.

oh, and DON'T change Sydneykids height settings. If you go any lower it will completely f**k the ride. I did, and I regretted it, lifted it back to how it came from SK and ride was 100 times better.

I used SK's height settings - only way to go!!!

SK,

I've currently only got some pedders shocks in the car and am looking to upgrade my suspension a bit more.

Could I get a price on the whole kit, minus strut braces and the sways will just be the fixed ones thanks.

Thanks

Peter

my mate ran 340/330mm and its fine...its not a family car...

in Japan it is.. and running the suspension too low means there is no travel, its rough as guts, and scrub the guards..

sydneykid, i have sent you a few pm's about the parts i have ordered a week ago but havent heard nothing back from you maybe coz your inbox is full ? just need to know you got my money and it is underway

thanks

Hi Gary,

Don't know if you got my PMs about payment made for Bilsteins?

They're not in my outbox, ordered over a week ago.

I guess you're just really busy lately?

Hey SK,

Want to buy this kit but unsure exactly what i will need. Running a completely stock suspension setup at the moment. It's a daily driver with the possibility of track and drift days. Car is a R33 gtst.

cheers

Sorry for the delay in responding, especially to PM's. The video card in my home PC died and it took me 4 days to find out what it was and fix it. So I am about 110 PM's behind at the moment and trying hard to catch up. Add that to the workload at Superior Suspension (12 to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week) and it will take me a few days to answer everyone.

Hang in there, if you have transferred money, it's safe, I am not going to run off to Brazil with it. You won't miiss out, the Group Buy isn't going to end soon as I have spent some time with Bilstein securing the shock supply for a couple of months at least.

Advanced warning, I am off to the US for 5 weeks from 1st October to 5th November. Checking out some east coast action, Detroit, Chicago, Daytona and the SEMA show in Vegas. So when I don't repond to PM's or emails in that period, I am sure you will understand why.

>_< cheers :D

Hey SK,

So all those suspension specialists you listed on the first page, I'm assuming they all have your tick of approval? Got a few quotes which range quite a bit so wondering what the difference is between them.

Hey SK,

tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full :-)

i'll just write it in here, when you do read it, can you please pm

been reading your Whiteline/Bilstein group buy thread and unfortunately was a bit too late as i have already bought some "low" king springs.

anyways,

at the moment i probably dont have the cash for the full package but would like to replace the shocks/springs

do you think the king springs should be fine with your spec bilstein shocks?

cheers mate

Izmir

Hey SK im in the same boat your message box is full so i will just leave message here. I would like to purchase the whiteline springs and bilstein shocks for my r33.

How do I go about this? Will I be able to order and receive these items before you go overseas? I can make payment immediately. Is the transfer account that Jamex Australia account listed on that recommended settings pic? How much will this order be? Anyway any reply will be appreciated.

Cheers Chris

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
