From my understanding, waxes (usually carnauba based) can be expected to last 2-4 weeks on average, before needing to be reapplied. They offer a deep shine and lustre.
Sealants on the other hand can last much longer, are synthetic compounds, and don't offer as much shine, but don't have to be applied as often.
My car is kept under a UV protecting shade, but rain water still gets through, meaning the car gets dirty pretty often, so washing is necessary every 1-2 weeks. I also get hard-water etching the clear coat which I'd like to stop from happening.
Wax seems to only last 2 weeks for me before it loses its water-beading properties, and it's a drainer to apply it all the time (takes 2hrs at least). Can anyone give me some advice on sealants which won't break the bank, and offer good long-lasting protection. If it's an OTC product that would be a bonus.
