stock RB26 oil pump choice today
Stixbnr32 replied to bigboss59400's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You answered your own question there I feel. If you want a stock street car without any track days then use a stock/Nismo/N1 pump and keep off the limiter. If you want to do track days go Tomei and Extended sump there is a reason it says to use one. I have run a tomei and sump with baffles for over 6 years and 40,000km+...so far touch wood no issues. Thanks -
I think some of the big turbo cars have 3.2L with front facing manifolds to fit the turbo as it doesn't sit between the strut tower. This effects sound dramatically. Also the TI exhausts seem to have a certain note. As above go with what works and get a good fab guy.

why are all modded vr38's still twin turbo
Stixbnr32 replied to Auto Budha in training's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah i do agree with tube frame and full carbon body. Suppose when you shooting for the world record for 4wd you pull all the stops. -

Stixbnr32 replied to Auto Budha in training's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah ST Hitec in NZ have a Vr38 that is above. It has now removed the Garrett turbo and will be running a single Giant precision turbo. Only been out for shake downs but is already Australasia's fastest R35 running 7's at 180mph+. -
Probably a stupid question but...
Stixbnr32 replied to redm0th's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do not buy a skyline if you want to take the turbo off. In-fact do not buy a skyline at all if you're worried about a turbo you will write it off for sure. Enjoy -
Yeah agree with the above. I changed fuel lines run 1 pump and on 98 with -5's got 445kw at the rears (only rear wheel dyno done that day). I used speed flow lines and fittings through out. Cost a bomb but future proofed as i plan on going E85 once i go single turbo one day. Do it once and do it right. Plus the bay looks so cool with black braid fuel lines.

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Stixbnr32 replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yo guys - will a 50mm wastegate be suited with a EFR 8374/1.05 T4? The manifold runs with 1 waste gate port split in two. -
Any results for these? Looking at upgrading my -5's.

Fly By Wire Throttle - 6 Throttle Rb26

Good to know love the concept so thought id ask the question. Thanks. -
I think the point of the video is to show the power it can make but they ran into some issues. The way youtubers make money is to make it into different parts not one big video. So that will come no doubt. I think the potential is there though.

New HGT sequiential r32 to 34 kit
Stixbnr32 replied to Taha's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I talked to the HGT guys as its an NZ gearbox. I think the prices were 14k for base box plus you need to buy shifter and stuff on top. He did say the GTR kit was out soon as above but would cost about 3k more. Alot of drifters/race cars have them in NZ and seem like a solid options. Apparently very quiet too. -
How difficult is 1000hp with stock appearence RB26
Stixbnr32 replied to GTRAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Motive DVD ran there stock RB 26 to what 800hp for years of thrashing. I know not full race pace everyday. Now will find out how there new engine lasts at 1000hp with all the fruit (still stock crank tho). Obviously not "stock" looking. I got told when my engine was built that 10 years (100,000km) has been seen on these engines with normal/drag and some circuit mixed in. Seems reasonable for 600+hp. -
Its interesting as my engine tuner/builder who used to have the fastest manual GTR in the world with a sub 8 sec pass (RB26 too) said head drains are pointless and the crank case pressure just forces more oil into the head and its better to just build it properly. Im sure CRD/Maatouks might argue that point I guess and there results are solid now. As for my build I run a catch can and just restrictors and baffles in the head. Blow buy isnt really an issue at he moment. Engine has done 40,000kms.

On this clutch and gear box 3....on the old setup that was abit shot to pieces 20 odd.

Yeah R/T doesnt matter clock doesnt start until I break beams. Was just trying to release pressure of a side by side race.

So my MPH is all good but im struggling with wheel spin so my 60ft is lazy. Im on the left hand of the lane on this slip. The right hand lane had drag radials on but I dont want to go there. What is a good street tyre could be a semi slick but I want to be able to run on the street/summer driving. R32 GTR with Stock 16" wheels and hunting the 10 sec pass. Thanks.

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Stixbnr32 replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah there were a number of things I noticed in that video Hollinger was quiet AF - went online to see if they had a new version out haha 1000cc injectors pushing 955 wheel HP on 98 with 1 pump hmmm I make 600 wheel HP with 1065cc at 64% Duty on 98 - so is it possible he at 100% IDC? Surely its engine HP so prob 800 wheel. -
I thought I had a boost leak with the sound I could hear for along time but couldn't find it. Lately I have noticed my - 5s have had some smoke when coming to a stop. I don't think it's my valve stem seals as this was all done in my built motor. Turbos have done about 40,000kms at 500hp and now pushing 600 since tune 2 months ago. Do you think I'm on the right track?

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Stixbnr32 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I got a set of Good Year Eagle F1 on my stock 16" R32 GTR Rims (225s) and well have I been surprised ran 11.4 @ 125mph on unprepped track with a 1.8 60ft and a 1.7 60 ft on a prepped track but missed a gear so didnt run faster but hat was an 11.2 run. Not something I'm keeping forever need some bigger wheels but I am happy with the cost/performance ratio.
