To op, buy what your budget allows for but remember you get what you pay for and poor man often pays twice. Splitfires can be found for around 550 and OEM around the 600 mark. The decision is yours. China or Japan.

    Since you have a haltech. Do a data log while its running until it cuts out, then check over the data and see if it shows what changed just before the cut out. That's where I would start since you have already covered the obvious items.

    Dodgy coils tend to play up when they get hot. Not saying that is your problem though. Good luck and let us know what it ends up being.

    I did this a while back when I was in the same predicament. Worked well and had no issues other than the feeling of doing something dodgy.
