  1. A newbie ranting... i feel like we would be friends! ???
  2. Give it a go on yhe outside with degreaser. Clean it up. If it reappears you're looking at a leaking gasket or seal somewhere there. [emoji106]
  3. Is it actually leaking? Or is this just a previous issue? If you clean it up and remove the oil residue, does it return?
  4. All following... (no one). We did mot succeed. One of the small ribbon cables looks very second hand. So we (Iron Mike) has ordered a couple. We'll (he'll) try them and hopefully all will be well! [emoji16]
  5. 100% Skyline experience! Welcome to the club. [emoji16]
  6. Audi A4 Racecar for sale. $7000 Located in Melbourne. Audi A4 Quattro Turbo racecar for sale. 1.8L 4 Cyl. Turbo, Intercooled. Full weld in cage. Cutout switch (internal & external). Tow points (front and back). Fix back race seat (standard seat rail) Fabricated floor (drivers side) Window net Weight reduced via seats, caprets, some electronics, some trims. Car will come with a huge number of spares including; Radiator Coil packs Some sensors Assorted hoses Assorted belts Trims New brake discs and pads Fluids to suit car 8 x Audi OEM 17" Wheels old tires (still ok for track days). 5 x Aftermerket 16" wheels and tires 5 x Audi A4 16" wheels and tires 17s are good for tracks, 16s are good for dirt etc. OEM manual (for what its worth) Haynes manual (for fixing anything) Car starts, runs, moves under its own power. Will probably need new pads and discs before next event. Car can also come with Floor jack, ramps and jack stands. What's missing from it you ask? Seat belts. The belts that were in it were sold out of it as they were for a Hans device helmet. The belts were going to run out of date so I sold them otherwise, this car is a start it, drive it, ready to go racecar. Car will meet tech checks for all up to the Pro/Am categories of racing. It's been well overdone for entry level motorsport. Can be flexible on price (especially for SAU members) if some items are removed from the sale, but would much prefer to get the entire lot out of my garage.
  7. Yellow! I love yellow R33s. Looks amazing. Glad to see it in good condition. [emoji16]
  8. I had a go at finding them using keys words and google images. Normally I'm pretty good at this game. Not this time though. Couldn't find them. [emoji848] You might just have to wait until you can pull one off the car and find the part number.
  9. I have. But that's it. They've been around for a long time (like 15 years or more). @Pal any chance you can weigh in here?
  10. Thank you. I think I was thinking of Chasers. Either way, that's why i wanted someone to confirm. Sometimes, i just don't know what i'm talking about. ?
  11. If you're considering security, think about physical items for you home/shed too. Think bollards, gates, cameras. Also chaining your car down as well as making it difficult to get out of the driveway. As a minimum, your car needs a good immobiliser/alarm and a kill switch. GPS tracking is also a good idea.
  12. I think RacePace if you're east or central and i believe (I've never used them) Chequered Tuning are pretty good and are west side (someone else please confirm my statement).
  13. I'm going to go ahead and say the red is way better. It miggt just be me liking bright shint objects though. [emoji23] I love seeing Skylines in bright colours. The more the merrier!
  14. No worries. My entire car was built by Galvsport (well the first part). I still took it to them, they provided useful feedback and the car was as well put together and as good of condition as they said. I'm sure someone in Perth could find you an alternate if you wanted a second option. [emoji16]
  15. Ok. I'll PM you. [emoji16]
  16. Hello. Are you in Melbourne? I could probably give it a look. No promises though. [emoji16]
  17. Josh from Galvsport was useful. Otherwise I've used State Roads before they pretty good too, they measured paint depth for crash repairs and read the OBD. (OBD not helpful for Skylines though).
  18. "Me, I'm one of the stupid ones, I'm a consumer." I'm not any better. I try though. And i do my best to understand climate change. It's something I'm pretty into.
  19. Yes our volume of emissions is low compared to other countries, but so is our population. Here's a link that shows per capita. Why are we so special that we get a free pass on this? As a first world country we should be doing much more than we are. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions_per_capita
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_efficiency_in_transport This won't help your anxiety, but will give you an idea of the best transport and cargo shipping methods. You hit Airlines on the head, but the large cargo shipping is actually one of the most efficient ways to move items. https://www.livekindly.co/david-attenborough-lost-appetite-meat-state-planet/ Here is a discussion around the meat industry quoting David Attenborough. My thoughts on climate change are pretty straightforward. For me it's about understand where I can make a difference and if that difference is worth the effort. For the most part, I find it is worth it, riding my bike and attempting to cut down on things that cause damage to the environment. If an electric charging network and subsequent move to electric cars is coming, that's fine by me. I still think it's wrong that for 70+ years industries have been destroying the world without a care and no recourse from governments, but if I can change my habits to assist the world why wouldn't I? If i'm honest, I feel like governments have failed the world consistently and will continue to do so until parliament houses are all underwater (satire, before you jump in). This is 100% true, any item that has a shred of plastic fits this statement. Kind of sad really.
  21. The point you've raised is energy density. At the moment, the amount of energy in diesel is greater than that of the equivalent sized battery. You're absolutely right that they won't do it yet. But they are coming. There's always work on new battery types. I forsee Australian (and American) cars being a lot more hybrid in the near future. This will give you the benefits of electric without the limited range that currently exists in an electric only vehicle. It actually makes sense for a hybrid ute. All that zero rpm torque plus a decent range. I'm a little surprised it hasn't happened already.
  22. The rattling of the twin plate is 100% normal. Mine (not OS) does it quite loudly. I'm not so sure that a grinding is though. Is it possible your putting the car in first while still moving. I know mine hates that.
  23. There's a bunch of useful groups on Facebook (and some no so useful). There's also SAU Vic.
  24. I've had 450kw atw for 2 years. Track days you say? One... where i broke it. [emoji849] So yeah, 100% reliability over bulk power.
