C's Short Shifter Identification
MrStabby replied to alonroz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Found a link which mentions this page http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=18010&cat=0&page=3 and it has a compatibility list; - Nissan S13 (CA18) - Nissan S13 (SR20) - Nissan S14 (SR20) - Nissan Cefiro A31 - Nissan Skyline R31 GTS - Nissan Skyline R32 GTS (N/A) - Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T - Nissan Skyline R33 GTS (N/A) - Nissan Skyline R34 GTT - Nissan Skyline R34 GTR So yeah - I assume you have a 33 GTS-T, and since its not listed you can infer its a different size. The bushing size has been talked about before - if you search you should find it. -
M35 Cracked Rear Subframe.

+1. A quality weld job will be as good as a new one. Any pictures of the cracks? -
Lee - where did you get the check plate? I have no oxy or welding equipment, so I'll just have to spend the money. Unless i can find a better option i'll probably just go for 1 off 1.5x3meter 12mm plate to halve the price, or maybe see if the supplier can do 10mm in the same size. I sometimes have semis parked across my driveway....hopefully they wont bend it.

R32 Gtr Biggest Wheel Fitment Without Modification?
MrStabby replied to james32gtr's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Would 18x10 +25 or +30 make things a little easier? -
You've done the right things to diagnose.... is the dipstick really loose? Ie the rubber perished/hardened?
-
Thanks Terry
-
@ Terry - ill give Sims a call. Any idea how many mm think yours are? @ battery - Yeah i know forklift required. Wood? Meh. I'll spend some time to work out how much shorter i can get away with - I imagine the angles are in a non-linear relationship with the plate length. Just need to remember how to do trigonometry...
-
I need to smooth out the gutter etc to get the GTR in without lip damage. First quote is $1900 incl delivery and GST for 2 off 1.5x3meter 12mm plates. Does that sound reasonable price and thickness wise?

Rb25 Neo Touches Strut Brace On R32 While Reving
MrStabby replied to IM-32-FK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Think about how lateral force is transmitted, and about where the upper arm mounts. Strut braces are very useful on the front of 32s. -

R32 Gtr Suspension Setup - What's Next
MrStabby replied to MrStabby's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm running R888s, but will go for a new rim/tyre combo when they're done because i want to use the 34GTR rims for street. -
R32 Gtr Suspension Setup - What's Next

Is this the one (kit with mounting bracket, lower control arm and radius rod)? http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/competition/lb/skylinebnr32.html I guess the lower control arm must be different. I already have the nismo radius rods and i believe the only difference is the wider bush. -

What would you go for? 6kg/ 7kg? Its 'moot' not 'mute' Also - I would have thought that the type of tyres could not effect under/oversteer balance - am i wrong? -

I'm going to say entry. It could be I dont really know what im talking about. Toe is zero front, and IIRC zero at the rear too. BlindE - i read an old ?autospeed? article about it, is that the one? The tweaker makes a huge diff compared to stock. Don't know how much better the ruzic etc ones are. However, there's too much understeer when no power is applied. -

If they're anything like the fuel filters on BNR32s, try going on steroids. -

If I go more castor, will that cause upper control arm bushes to flog out? Lots of people seem to have problems with them, but i've been ok so far on stock castor (noltec upper arms). IIRC stock castor is in the 3-4 deg range right? How much do you suggest? Would the extra rigidity of the rose joint arms be beneficial even it i dont pull in more castor? (less loss of dynamic castor?) AFAIK they're stock diffs. I *think* i can notice the rear tightness in carparks, but could be my imagination. Re tyre pressure - does that imply I need to measure temperature across the tread. or just play around with it to see what happens? Thanks! -
Currently its; Tein coilovers, 8.2 front, 6.4 rear corner weighted. Front height 350mm, rear 340mm. Whiteline adjustable sway bars, front full soft, rear full hard. Whiteline neoprene? pineapples, IIRC in "traction" position. However, one of the factory subframe bushes is leaking. Front 3 deg neg camber, rear 1.25 deg neg camber Nismo radius rods with superpro adjustable bushes R34 GTR rims with R specs Ebay attessa tweaker The car still understeers too much. What's the next step to address that? The car is not a daily anymore so comfort is less important. I've been thinking about; - Rose joint radius rods (GTSboy seems to be a fan, understood they're not road legal) - Softer front springs - maybe 7kg? or? - Alloy pineapples (so the leaking factory bush no longer matters) - Roll center adjusters - will this help front end grip if i just add them on the front? Comments?

Stuart Hwy De-Restricted
MrStabby replied to the spruce moose's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yep. One guy i went to just tilted the brake testing device to the left then to the right and then printed out the pass..... Never even put it in the car. That stuff scares me. There needs to be a crack down on this stuff. -
Interesting - are there no CHRAs to fit the stock housing, or does he just not supply them? How much laggier is the smallest highflow he does?
-
People often suggest highflows, but never seem to ask what the use case is or mention the downside. If your car is stock and going to stay that way i'm sure Hypergear can just rebuild your turbo with a stock like, but alloy wheeled, CHRA. You may well prefer the responsiveness of that option to a highflow.

I had a mate translate some of the Stag owners manual. Engine oil change interval is 5000kms, not 10000, and it looks like the filter is every second change. Huge variation in oil viscosities is odd...Diff oil change interval is only 60,000kms, so i know what i'm doing on the weekend.
