I miss the days when E85 was like $0.90 tops. First trip to United, post plastic surgery and make over.
-
Never! I even got the panel beater to shave off the end plates so they're blank. I have the GT-R badge from that boot if anyone wants it.
-
Nah failed at that one, has a twin scroll single turbo and has VCT. Needs no VCT, twin turbos for the lags.

RB25 NEO not holding compression
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to The_RB25_Noob's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I feel this car needs a BMW GS7D36SG DCT and yes a 3.2L. Should go well with a street Garrett G40-900 in full twin scroll form. -

Sounds fine to me, just send it with more boost to make up for the slightly below spec compression -

Sounds like time for a Samsonas -
Shoota's R33 GT-R RB30/26

LOLOLOLOLOL damn no Samsonas! -
Found a few minutes spare today, turns out they sold me a GT-R one. Good enough, just 1x clip hole doesn't like up. I have the option of punching a new hole OR drilling one. Still a bit undecided on what path to take but I'll do it one year.

Great data as always Tao - I suspect the additional lift of the Poncams (although not sensational) still attributed to more flow/power

TENSION ROD BUSHING

And then ended up with a Nitto 3.2L stroker motor and a Samsonas sequential gearbox? -
Hey SAU Gang, Yeah yeah, I know I went FFP and built my motor - what a sell out (poor out?) This allows for a tidier setup, creates space for a high mount setup and reduces pipe work length. More details here (and that's also The Fridge's engine bay back when I first installed it): https://plazmaman.com/product/r33-gtst-piping-kit/ Only cold side, i.e. Intercooler outlet -> throttle body Some slight customisations: No BOV provision, instead replaced with 8mm barb for boost reference IAT fitting for GM/Haltech sensor (not included) just after the bend post Intercooler Additional break point/silicone joiner post intercooler for better fitment Overall in good condition, just a few scratch marks where it rub against the cam breather. Pipe work has been sprayed in black engine enamel, would look much better if powder coated. Price: $200 will trade for a working for R33 driver's side window switches for a coupe (no need for facia, needs to be 12-pin) Location: Cabramatta, NSW 2166

New Garrett Gtx2860R / 2863R / 2867R
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Gav's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
On VR38, VR30 variants they run twin plenums, twin TBs - however there is a balance tube between them to reduce the delta between each side. (aftermarket one just for a top down view & OEM) & VR30DETT Not disagreeing with the difference between each group however I would suspect it would be a more efficient than two turbos fighting against each other to force air into what is essentially a Y connector. However the way @AndyStuttgart worded it, it sounds like the delta would be massive. I would dare say if you could separate each turbo's charged air via separate piping, separate ICs and just merged before it touches the plenum you would already have gained efficiencies that way. Kind of how you bi-wire your speakers to reduce back emf. To summarise, twin scroll single turbo > twins on an inline 6. (All the above is for entertainment purposes only, please don't get upset - especially if you're Murican or Canadian ). -

Why would the front/rear have different charge temps and boost pressure? -
I barely have time to sleep these days, let alone work on race cars that are 2000km away lol

TENSION ROD BUSHING
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to NCred02's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If they're OEM ones, they're fixed and not to mention probably completely flogged. Just jack up the car securely and take off a castor rod from one side and inspect the bush. Nissan at the time thought filling it with some form liquid was a great idea. -

Clearly I'm not good at listening lol... (Mainly skipped all the talking and just looked at the manifold design and listened to the car noises). So many single turbo kits, just none in RHD. Talk about going off topic, anyhow back on topic. Twin turbos on a RB with a single plenum will always be shit. Only "real" way to make them less shit is to run twin turbos, twin ICs, twin plenums and keep them separate all the way. @Piggaz actually found a video of the crazy Japs back in the 90s that actually did just that. -

As soon as a single turbo goes on, it's like a symphony played by the gods. I think this is Brett's car (judging by the plates) https://youtu.be/QvUwVTgi_Hk -

Because it sounds cool on paper but in reality sounds aids (literally), a M3 with an exhaust sounds horrible. Kind of a reminds me of a stock turbo R32-34 with a loud exhaust, just sounds dreadful. -
You're probably thinking of this style of Tyco connectors, these are a complete cnut to get right as per your experiences. The other end to the plug and play adaptor uses these and yes, I've ended up just wiring direct to ECU instead and bypassing them as they're a cnut to work with 😂

One sensor issues at a time, worked out why my oil temp was reading out of whack. Turns out when you run a temperature sensors on a SP Input instead of an AV Input the internal pull up is 10k Ohms not 1k Ohms. This means the standard calibration table cannot be used and needs to be offset. Haltech did supply me a new calibration table to suit, however advised that the resolution will be reduced. To fix this small issue, I decided to move the EMAP input to SPI2 and move the Oil Temp input to AVI10 (didn't do this initially as I used the OEM power steering input and pinned it to the OEM AFM and it all sat on the main 24 pins connector). Instead of cutting, crimping and shrinking I decided to swap it on the ECU side AMP plugs. How good are these AMP plugs? No need for any fancy thin depin tools, etc.? Anyhow was a 5 minute job and hello full range and full resolution oil temperature.
