PonieBoi R32 Sedan Build

This looks like a great build. You should go back and fix the pictures though, its always best to upload them to SAU rather than linking them. In this case I think some permissions are restricting anybody from seeing them unless its you. -
You made baby Jesus cry.

Thoughts on acceptable street tyre wear rates
PranK replied to Murray_Calavera's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm running Federal 595s on my street wheels ATM but that said I work from home and don't usually do more that 750ks per month so they last long enough from a time basis for me. I love them and also good in the wet. I used to run rs4s but couldn't get them in my new size and felt the same about them, even though they saw the track a few times they seemed to hold up quite well but I got rid of them before they died so I don't know how many ks they would have done. -
Is this a happy or sad moment?

I'm not convinced we'll see a new model. 😞
-
I'm wondering how you got the dude to drop 8k (or $14,000 AUD) ! That's alarm bells for me! It does look nice! Great colour and wheels combo. But as Ben said, its more than an E9x M3!!! 😮

Nono, don't be sorry about posting here. Nobody gives a crap where you're from, we were just trying to figure it out. For the record, if you're not planning on driving it hard, surely you can get a super nice streeter with a few extra ponies for less than this built one? You'd have less long term issues and probs cheaper to maintain.
-
Yeah I was thinking about just getting something big. Not sure how keen she'll be on that.
-
100% no on any cheap, used euro. Otherwise, I'll be the one trying to maintain it for her ...
-
Looked at the Corollas in her range, zero safety. No ABS even.
-
Whats this about? You selling it or just bought it? Looks like it has a lot of good parts but that doesn't mean shit if the builder was a monkey. How do you know its been built well? Buying a modified (mild or more) car will always be fraught with danger, you have no idea the competency of the mechanic (or maybe you do?). 600hp is a lot for the street, if it is to be a street car and driven as such then you're more likely to be fine over the long run.

My neice is getting her P's soon and needs a car. She has a budget of $5k... I'm going to try and work with her to get more budget but if we stick to amounts around this and considering how my sister drives 😬I'm going to want something safe. Very very safe The best I have so far is a bk Mazda 3. Preferably the maxx (two x's for coolness) or the sp23. The latter having lots of airbags, abs and traction control. For this price though they all have been to the moon a few times. Maybe an AWD subie? An Impreza RS has a bunch of safety stuff but I'd be worried about maintenance costs and general reliability. In Nissan's corner there is the woefully under equipped Tiida or a Micra which looks good but is tiny. Can get a auto SSS N15 Pulsar! But it has no safety features at all. What do you think is the best option here?

I like it! How does it handle? I got a new euro too, an E90 335i to replace the 330i. Pretty quick for a standard grandpa spec. Unfortunately, can't get you a pic because she's already in the shop and broken. Good thing I got a warranty. 6 years and 50,000 k's with the 330i and never had the need for a towie. 3 weeks and 300 k's with the 335i and its already seen the back of a truck! Edit: forgotten I'd already announced the new wheels. Ignore my excitement driven duplication.

Shown at Tokyo Auto Salon. https://www.autoblog.com/2023/01/12/2024-nissan-gt-r-reveal/ Unfortunately, like the EU we wont be getting it. What do you think tho? How long can they flog this model? The Nismo looks good and I like the exposed carbon. The wing is super cool. I was kinda expecting more from the announcement though.

Thanks again for this help, hugely appreciated. Bloody car lost its water pump last night so its in the shop getting that and some rattly wastegates fixed for the next few days. Will formulate a plan of attack for the body when she's back.
-
Thanks again for this help. Here's the entire panel. There's a few other scratches and dings in front of the filler but it's all straight behind it. The shadow makes it look a little wonky.

Btw I have previously tried to spray a front bar in my backyard using acrylic and it sucked. Bad.
-
That's brilliant, thanks @Murray_Calavera Considering it's the rear quarter, that's a lot to repaint with the rattle can. I'm worried about my results. 😬 I do have an air compressor but spraying has always been something I'm a little worried about. If I'm spraying outside is it only a respirator I need? I know you need a full suit when in the booth. Really awesome advice, thanks!

Doesn't need to be perfect. Its the 2nd family car after all and, despite my emotions, gets beat up a bit. I was thinking a can of body colour and clear, sand, fill, smooth as you said and do a soft-edge spray job on it. Wouldn't be worse than it is now.

Thanks all New boot definitely an option @The Bogan - about $300 for a good'un. Its that guard though. Surely I can make it look better without taking it to 'the man'.
