I have always wondered in regards to the airbox debate. I don't quite understand why your engine bay temps should be so high when the car is moving. Even with a pod, I can't see air temps being an issue when you are travelling at 80 km/hr. Sure when you are stationary they will rise, but temps will quickly be restored as soon as there is some airflow. Example If the engine bays air entry is a 1m x 1m and the engine bay volume is 2x2x1m then you have a surface area of 1 m squared and a total volume of 4m cubed Approximation suggests @40 km/hr you have 11 m/s of air volume = 3 air changes per sec @80 km/hr = 6 air changes per sec @120 km/hr = 9 air changes per sec Even at 70% efficiency, that is still a lot of air moving through the engine bay. I can't logically see how a pod could cause the issues that are being suggested even though a pod could benefit flow at higher demand conditions. Not saying I am right, but my basic maths questions the opinions.

Also just make sure the internal baffles are done right as sometimes the cheaper ones are just an open can and pretty useless for proper oil control. Have a look at the oil control thread as there is a lot of good information there.

This is what I would do if I was to buy a keeper. Take it to a Gtr specialist, like Racepace before you part with a cent. If buyer is not happy with that walk away. Have 20 grand spare after you by it.

Popped many cooler pipes and still able to drive the car, runs like shit but still drive OK in the no boost area of the map.

Rb26 TO4z in traffic today with ac on 80c oil and water temp didn't move off half. But fark the air temp must have been up there as the timing was retarded and thing was idling like a bridge ported rotor. Oh and never on boost as its laggy as a 3 legged tortoise. So definitely look at the cooling mate.

Interesting, I found the opposite. When I was buying a car in 2006 I test drove the evo VIII, sti, and clubby and found the evo the most uncomfortable. Not to say it wasn't an awesome car, as I think it was better than all of them from a performance viewpoint, but it was a bit to harsh and gittery for a comfortable daily. I find my 33 a lot more compliant for a daily.
