  1. To follow up the 33 made it 2 years straight outright in the Motorkhana event - Anyone would think I'm the only GTR in the Territory... Anyway, anyone seen this ? I think the blue car might have to make an appearance up in Darwin for some roll racing on the Hidden Valley circuit 😃 https://www.gazzanats.com.au/gazzanats-nt This event is only 2 weeks before the the 33 will try for 3 years in a row in the Alice Motorkhana. All 3 GTRs have been entered as of today, so looks like a busy August / September this year. Very interested to see if the 32s can match the pace with the 33. The current winner: The contenders:
  2. Couldn't help myself...
  3. Yep, we've all been there unfortunately. Should've seen the old man's face when the white 32 failed on the dyno in Adelaide last year....he knew straight away what just happened. 2 years straight on the car then 1500km drive and just like that on 4th dyno run its all over. He 77 now and still at it !
  4. The best place for a flyback diode is at the load, so across the pump terminals ideally. .
  5. I'd like to PWM the blue 32 with the twin 400 pumps, but can't be stuffed so it will stay staged. It works perfectly and probably draws less current than PWMing 2 pumps simultaneously. PWM on the primary external and keep the secondary staged if I can be bothered would be the go. For Predator1 - absolutely use a flyback diode as above. I like the 1N5404 at 400v / 3A for a bit of overkill.
  6. PWM on our white 32 GTR with the Walbro 525 pump. I run the same as Dose pipe with a Haltech / Kudom SY4086 100A SSR, but at 150HZ.
  7. I used your fuel density table you sent me and put it in the Elite before Simon tuned it at Morpowa last year, very handy 👍
  8. Not high at all. In the NT until I staged my two 400lph AEM external pumps with twin -8 feeds from surge with AEM 340lph in tank pump I was seeing 70 - 75 on the highway, ambients were above 40 though. After staging the 400s the temps came down under 50. On the other 32 with PWM we had similar reduction in temp as Johnny suggested on a single Walbro 525lph pump.
  9. Ok as mentioned above step back and breathe..... I have felt like this before, especially with the blue 32 hence the money pit tag. If you notice I only started a build thread on it in the last couple of years, didn't have time to document it with all the shit things that has happened. That car has taken me approximately 14 years to get it remotely where I want it from first posting about it on SAU in 2009. I've wanted to burn or sell it after multiple engine and gearbox failures in the past, and even had it parked up for a good 2+ years at one stage without touching it. Mate I had my first Nitto 2.8 let go at under 1000km and didn't know what to do so I know the feeling. In the end I came back and fixed it and glad I did. I know it can get depressing sometimes but if you're anything like me you develop an emotional attachment to the GT-R, and something about these cars just draw you back to them. Maybe just step away from it for a bit before deciding to get rid of it - going down the modded GT-R road is not easy, but is definitely satisfying if you end up persisting.
  10. Doubt there was a faulty valve guide from Supertech. It would've be damaged on install.
  11. The head is off and disassembled- don't stuff around, use a new valve guide as suggested.
  12. You mean the Ford FPV R spec 6 pot Brembos with the Evo 10 rotor combo on the front ? I think I want 🤔
  13. New WRX is electronic gate now also. Geez they're expensive at $1300 - $1600 for the 45mm to 60mm Turbosmart ones without controller, which is another $800 ! I'd be giving this a big miss - they draw 20A too !
  14. I think you've just demonstrated how shit your side mount intercooler actually is in pressure drop and flow across its core compared to your front mount.
  15. You did not read this from Dose Pipe did you, as the Elite is quite capable
  16. 46 tooth to be exact. Would it really be a problem with the factory reluctor ABS sensors, being that you are effectively reading a frequency change ?
  17. Thread on subject here if you want to use the factory ABS sensors, which you would obviously have to add to the front in your case.
  18. It is different, as in there are 2 versions. One for square wave speed sensor version and the ABS sine wave version which splices into the ABS sensors. https://www.vboxmotorsport.com/wiki/TractionControl
  19. No, not the same. You need an actual RB25DE neo gasket kit, part number 10101-5L725. Includes all this, which you can work out from Nissan fast parts codes and is available from Kudos. http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/complete-engine-gasket-suit-nissan-skyline-25gt-rb25de-p-1263.html
  20. External pumps no. Intank pumps like the Walbro or AEM pumps yes, but generally the ones that are internal to the pump on these are usually rated to something around 120psi. This is definitely an area that is compromised on knock off pumps too. That Nissan heap of shit is something as low as 75psi. Now imagine 40+psi base pressure, 15psi boost plus fuel line losses of 15psi upwards with shitty 5/16" lines and you are already getting scary close to it opening - IF it is working correctly.
  21. Fuel pressure relief valve, get rid of it as it can cause more dramas than retaining it, as the opening pressure is fairly low from memory. If it fails or activates, it just pumps the fuel out into the tank and you get no fuel to your engine. This may be your problem if it has stuck open or partially open. So if your car is actually running, what is your actual fuel pressure at idle and on load ? Really gotta go back to basics here and make sure you have an unblocked fuel filter then confirm your actual fuel pressures before guessing about anything.
  22. What's the problem? 90mm to 100mm reducer 45 or 90 degree elbows are not an uncommon size. Google / ebay harder
  23. I find that hard to believe for a non runner and the route they will take, as the car carriers route will definitely be Darwin, Alice, Port Augusta then west to Perth. If you really can do it for under $2k for a non runner as you say, I'd be jumping on it.
  24. Ha ! You got no hope at that price. Darwin to Perth is nearly 5000km going the main transport way and the car is a non runner, which makes it more expensive to freight. When we got our white 32 GTR as a non runner back in 2019 from Sydney to Alice Springs it was over $2k, and that was depot to depot which is the cheaper than door pickup. Average for non runner was in excess of $3k from the likes of Ceva etc. Darwin to Perth is going to kill you if you only budgeted $1k. The only carrier that wouldn't be well over $5k for a non runner that does that route will be SMB transport, which you can book through Moving cars. Log onto moving cars and get a quote for a non runner Darwin to Perth - I'll be surprised if it comes in at under $4k.
  25. Mate, I hope for your sake it is in the head / valve stem area. I was proposing worst case scenario with the bad oil ring, which you do not want to be the case being engine rebuild obviously.
