In other completely f**ked news the 32 was left slightly exposed to the heavy rain recently and this happened to the left front guard Water got under the clear coat and destroyed it. Straight away got it redone and results are immaculate, very impressed. Hard to capture how good the repaint and blend is with my very bad photo skills, but the entire left side of car has basically been resprayed. Me and Alexi from Alice Crash are very good friends at the moment after the recent triple car theft from my house, so I'm glad the 32s are around at the old man's place.

3 10mm bolts from head to block rb26
BK replied to MoMnDadGTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Visual reference on the 3 bolts for others wondering location, as just put the head on the white 32 today -
No glue holds on the genuine 33 one which has about 5 studs that go right through the factory drilled bonnet. Was your bonnet originally drilled ?

What Bride seat ? I'm about 194cm. I have Bride Brix 2 seats on Bride MO superlow rails in the blue 32 GTR which substantially drop the height from normal, and the 32 sucks badly compared to my 33 - I have the seat all the way back too. I do have a 6 point cage which complicates things further and using a helmet is a fricken nightmare compared to the 33, even before the cage went in the 32. I'm removing the Bride seats as I hate them.

R32 for example.

That's not even true either. I went to purchase a second set / pair of 32 outer sills which are over a metre long. This was going to be about $1250 -$1300 for them - and shipping with TNT / FedEX on top was going to be over $1400 ! When I got a set through RHDjapan it was about $550 with DHL... You want fast oem, Ive gone back to these guys in Kyoto this year who I used to use years ago over Amayama - can't beat them for speed on oem parts but RHD is close. Both 100% reliable. https://jp-carparts.com/ Interestingly enough Amayama ears must of been burning as my last part is here this arvo and will ship entire order tomorrow from Sydney.
-
As a long time customer, Amayama is pure shit at the moment for Australia. At least a 3-4 month wait if you are ordering multiple parts. Amayama have an office in Australia (Sydney), UAE and Japan and not all parts are stocked in Japan - some are US, some UAE. For Australia they don't specifically order and ship your parts to you from supply point either - they bulk order to Australia warehouse to keep shipping down which is why their supply to us sucks and takes ages. Having a local office here is actually a disadvantage because of this now - called the Sydney office yesterday as I have an order of nearly 4 months getting held up by still awaiting one part ! At least if you order genuine stuff from RHD, Nengun or JP car parts they exclusively source your parts within Japan and send direct to you from Japan.

Ok to be less vague and before you do anything above, first thing is to pull the 3 pin sender signal plug from the fuel tank tophat. (The 2 pin one is your fuel pump power) Get a multimeter Test resistance between the 2 outside pins on the 3 pin connector on top hat, this is the level sender for gauge. (Middle pin is low fuel light, not relevant to gauge) Normal resistance is around 4 - 6ohm for full and 80 - 90ohm for empty. If resistance is higher than this, like in the k ohm or just open, the problem is inside the tank on the level float wiring / contacts. If you have resistance in this 5 - 90ohm range problem is on upstream wiring towards or at your gauge end. Most likely it'll be in your tank (fixed this lots), especially since your gauge is way below the empty scale it indicates an open circuit.

I stage pumps on the blue 32 and was going to mention the Walbro check valves aren't worth a pinch of of shit, and allow flow backwards under bugger all pressure. Any in tank pump integral check valve appears to be garbage from my experience and doesn't do anything. Get a proper one way valve like a Speedflow one - don't rely on the internal ones because they are shit. -
Will an R32 GTR with -9 turbos need a tune?
BK replied to Fizurg's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ok I'll weigh in here since I've done it. When I blew a stock turbo on my 33 18 years ago I changed to the HKS GT-SS, which is almost the direct equivalent of -9 (HKS has bees dick bigger compressor wheel, exhaust side identical) I drove it 1500km to Adelaide on the factory fuel pump, injectors and ECU at the speed limit of 110 - 130kph. When I got there ECU was changed, fuel pump changed, twin Z32 AFM installed, 700cc injectors installed and then was on the dyno a tuned to 330kw on 98ron unleaded at about 1.3bar. Moral of the story is - yes you can put these turbos on and drive it ok, as in no boost. Change turbos, keep it low load on vacuum and drive to wherever you want and get it tuned and it will be fine. -
Their neighbourhood is the whole town and the whole of the Northern Territory.

In other completely f**ked Alice Springs news I had 3 of my cars stolen at 2am this morning thanks to the gangster wannabe first nations youth in this f**ked up town - 2020 Hilux, 2007 Territory and the 2015 WRX. All recovered now but Hilux slight bull bar damage, WRX has fairly heavy front damage but repairable and at Alice crash now, Ford Territory is a completely f**ked write off. All three Rs were untouched so no GTRs were harmed in the process thank god.... Nine news apparently wants to interview me about it, so stay tuned for the news tomorrow night. F**k this place, f**k the crime here and the f**k Michael Gunner and the NT labor government. I'm outta here as soon as I end up selling the house - Alice Springs can eat a f**ken dick c#nts and burn🖕

MLR's Bogan cruise ship
BK replied to The Bogan's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Absolutely correct - Bosch themselves rate the 044 at 500hrs lifespan on E85 if you find the factory specifications. AEM and now Deatschwerks have E85 compatible versions of the 044 to combat this - exactly the same dimensions and flow more. And yes they are still a tiny bit loud but meh -

What's your beef with a no check valve pumps ? - one way valves are a good thing indeed so it doesn't have one, install one inline like a Speedflow. If you meant pressure relief valve, they are good too as long as they are not set too low - the Bosch 540 has a 190psi installed in it. So which DW brushed pump is equivalent to the BR540 ? BR540 good pump but again bit of bullshit marketing - flows 460lph at 40psi so still massive, but not 540. Flow ratings for pumps like injectors should be at 40psi - 43psi / 3bar. -

Dont be like that, nothing wrong with the good old 044 for what it is, and Walbro pumps are far from being any better at reliability. The 044 current draw vs flow is excellent - a solid 300lph pump. If you're not controlling via PWM the Walbro 460 upwards pumps draw A LOT of current for what they are, and they bullshit their ratings. A 460 is 455 - 460lph a 0psi (375 at 40psi / 12v and 430lph at 40psi / 13.5v). I will agree they are bloody near silent though because of their turbine design. AEM make an excellent E85 rated 044 version that flows 25% more (a genuine 400lph at 43psi pump) than an original 044 in the same frame and they draw significantly less (30% +) current than Walbros. Even their intank pumps shit on any Walbro pump for current vs fuel supply like an AEM genuine 340lph at 43psi pump that only draws roughly 12 - 14A, compared to one single Walbro sucking up to 25A (525lph at 0psi). -
Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
BK replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That's really interesting to hear. I've too gone with the Hankook RS4 on both of the 32 GTRs as the AD08R alternative, but the 33GTR is on the AD08R and I cannot say I've ever used a better tyre. As soon as I switched to the AD08R I started winning the Motorkhana events, so I for one cannot wait for the 09R ! Same, not on the Facebook either. It's pretty sad when Facebook for companies is more useful than their websites regarding information. -

Twins vs single vs 2 x singles lol
BK replied to Old man 32 GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Keir Wilson's 1000kw + R35 I mentioned above makes meaningful boost at 4500rpm, full boost is around 6000rpm and revs to 7500rpm. This is also 4.0 litre VR38 , so realistically a 3.2 RB is never going to be anywhere near what that will achieve. FYI and comparison his R32 with the smaller twin T67 Trust turbos made around 850hp / 630kw at wheels on an OS giken 3.0 litre and was still not a full boost by 6000rpm, but did rev over 9000rpm. For a genuine 1000whp RB twin high mount setup, I think a pair of gen2 5558 650hp turbos would yield superior results in spool and power compared to the Trust items. -
Sequential / Dog Box servicing question. RB26

So far with dog boxes I've broken gears before dog wear has become an issue. I also used to run Quaife / Trust dog boxes frequently for years so that's not surprising..... -
