jp spec s15 vs aus spec s15

That would explain why a slightly moded jap spec will spank an aussie version with the same mods. however start changin the oz spec engine managment and u have the identical car!

Don't forget guys with the aus version S15 if you go for an aftermarket ecu,

Eg: Apexi Power FC you have to switch wire 30/31 on ecu wiring harness to run the fuel pump & i think the CAS.

:D

jap spec has bigger injectors, and a 6 bolt roller bearing turbo compared to the aussie 5 bolt. the steering wheels are nicer in the jap spec, the exhaust in both is very simiar and from my experience the difference in boost is minimal if at all different. ice performance have told me that the most they are able to speeze out of the aussie spec is about 180rwkw and jap spec more like 215rwkw. I have witnessed first hand two of my freinds going at it. one had a stock japspec the other an aussie spec with catback exhaust, and the japspec raped it everytime

Jdm makes 184kw@fly. Adm makes 147kw@fly.

As noted above Jdm has more timing advance.

Jdm has digital climate control, adm is analogue.

The Jdm's imported where the pre Adm years so i think that was 99 and maybe early 2000.

I wouldn't worry about which one, just buy the best condition example you find. Personally i favour the Adm version as there is less chance of the odometer being wound back and less chance of rust due to climate conditions. They are things to definitely check for on either model.

Aussie versions of cars also end up with factory immobilizors where the Japanese ones won’t

Then you install a JDM ECU, swap the 2x CAS pins and 1x fuel trigger and off you go - or BYO Haltech/Link/MoTec/ etc.

Poor effort on the NATS lol.

My stock NA 86 makes more @fw than the ADM S15.

I don't want to talk anymore about this though......

I like my 86, but I lay awake at night thinking of what could have been.......

As stated, I don't want to talk about it.

Sadly I missed a ultra low km one owner ADM when I was looking.

The thing was like new, stored, it had 5000km on it if I recall right, it sold for $28k I believe, which I would have paid.

It was red, a yellow one, exact same condition, owned by the same guy sold about 2 months prior.

I doubt I will ever see one in that condition again.

Bugger
