did my centre console :( lookss sexxyyy chose to do it in 3 coats of powerplus black met paint with 2 coats clear

some people like the matt black but i prefer the glossy look so yeh.. you can put clear or not i guess

will post up pics soON!

yeah I was gonna say the same ..camera flash brings out all the little imperfections and pretty much any interior no matter the colour looks shit with a flash, but still I'd done clear over black and didn't like it myself so re-did it.

Hopefully getting my car back today so I'll take a couple of shots of my handy work :P

I'm doing mine at the moment.

The paint color of bang on, and most of the dash comes apart without too much trouble.

I haven't gotten to the climate control yet, as this will be a bit more difficult.

That will be for session number two!

Taking the paint off was quite easy, but for anyone about to try this, get multiple scourers. Whatever paint comes off the plastic is simply transferred to the scourers, doesn't really dissolve as such.

So to get the temp dial out, do you just pull it off?

I'm having trouble getting the air con bits apart, and I think there must be a screw of something behind there......

^yes, sinply pull off the temp dial and there will be a final nut to unscrew if my memory serves me correctly

also, I only used one of those sponges with the green scourer on the back and it worked fine

you take the blue and red things out by cutting off the tabs at the back and pushing it through.. just re-glue them when you put them back in :D

you'll realise what to do when you take the air-con out

To take off the paing you used a scourer/sponge thingy, and any liquid? metho or anything, or did you just scrub the sht out of it?

I just put a plug in the laundry sink, poured in a few cups of metho, and dropped in the parts.

Coated all pieces in Metho, waiting less than a minute then started to rub, and lo and behold, horrible old paint transferrs from the plastic to the sponge and my hands......

Wear Gloves.

yeah I used metho, you need just enough to mostly submerge the parts, with the ash tray I only needed to soak the lid. Make sure where you're doing it is well ventilated, or you wear a mask, the metho does get to you :)

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
