I have it up to 2008. so mine covers the 36 series as well.

jon,

no. I'll come collect you in it once it arrives. have been looking at 250 & 300 GT though. I know where few cheapies are :P

Thanks for the info, my parts guy showed me the V35 on FAST the other day, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5, so i should be right. Fairly big dealer so I would imagine if you have V36, he could get it too. Well that's the hope.

So are you going to share your information about cheapies, like you normally do...?

Or would that make them less cheap...

Can I suggest you spend a few days going through the many pages of posts in this V-Series forum... there is a lot of information hidden in here?

who from? there's probably a good chance I'll see the car at some stage if you bought it from a perth broker.

in regard to service manuals - JDM - yes (on paper) USDM - close enough for reference but not exact.

the rest of the info you are asking about - read this section of the forum :D . I have a fair bit of info on them and I can point you in a general direction for most of it.

if its audio/video/nav related you will see a LOT from me.

got pics (or a link.)?

Hi all

I just signed up to the forum, which I found while researching my next car.

At this stage I am looking at importing a V35 Sedan (premium) Hopefully in manual 05ish in the Pewter colour.

So far this site and g35driver have been usefull in gathering info. Any suggestions for importers, what to get options wise etc etc. For example is the TV only for sat nav (only comes with sat nav) or a option on its own. Is it worth having.

Styling updates for 05 on, what was involved, I know they droped the cvt for 5spd auto.. What else??

More questions to come Iam sure

Hey burner,

Welcome to the forums. Check out Nagoya Motors and ask for Alex. I purchased mine from him Series 2 350gt premium sedan.

Here's one that might interest you.

http://www.nagoyamotors.com.au/vdetail.asp?id=472

Ignore the Gt-8 as I'm pretty sure thats a typo. Series 2 come in the 5spd auto and also the keyless ignition (buttons on door handle and also bootlid to open/lock/unlock. Also come with the Bose CD/MD in brushed aluminium trim which is a lot nicer than the earlier models.

Good luck in your search..I highly recommend Nagoya. Do a search and you will find similar recommendations for them.

My V35!

Apparently i could have it here within 3 weeks if it makes the next boat so im pretty happy about that...

so, after reading what seems like 50 threads on getting the TV/Sat Nav/GPS to work, where do we stand now? I keep reading that something is meant to be released in September or October? Whats the verdict in 25 words or less?

Hey guys

up to my 3rd car now, the v35 should of been my 2nd but lucky i did wait 2 years as now they are much more affordable to own and there is alot more information available on them since back then.

i used to own a 180sx and also an S15

I woke up last week and said "screw it" sold the s15 that took me 5 days and i bought the V35 2 days later off a mate who i know takes very good care of his car.

I wish i did buy the car 2 years ago instead of the s15 but yeh in a way good that i waited.

I really wanted a black one but its a nightmare to maintain and the swirl marks OMG.... so silver it is

Hi guys,

I'm freshly back to the world of Nissans and new to the world of Skylines.

Just nabbed myself a v35 Locally:

Premium Pack (no Sat Nav - Doesn't work anyway :) )

18 Factory Alloys - I love the look of these rims

6 Speed Manual

22k on the Clock

Couldn't fault the body work.

Test drive a 350Z with a Nismo Exhaust same day, top car! This was cheaper, and even if it hadn't been, It was love at first sight.

Here are a few pics and I apologise for the mix bad camera phone pics and ones stolen for my car from the yard's website. I will post some proper pics when I take delivery in two days :) Can't wait.

Hello All!

I am new here, came across while searching for answer for my radio/TV/nav problem.

I sold my 4WD and decided to buy a Nissan Skyline from Southern Special Vehicle in Oakleigh, Victoria. Found a black infiniti, a 2003 model with full leather n 6 speed manual. Took it home on the 24th of September, excellent car aside from radio/tv/nav. I've read some related topics about radio/tv/nav so, I'll get my radio be fix first, and alarm. Any suggestions on brand/ installer/ self install guide for radio? How's viper 5701 or 5900? Any issue/ problem with this brand n particular model?

Thanks all and hope to hear answers from anybody!

Edwin

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 馃
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
  • Create New...
