the supras are an awesome car. plenty of grunt and huge potential. i was looking to buy one before the skyline. i only chose the 33 over the supra due to the supra being a bit too bulky for me. oh.. and i didnt like the interior. too spaceship like.

Tell your friend to get a targa top Supra, hes gonna have trouble fitting his head in it otherwise...

Supras aren't a bad thing IMO. NA ones are ghey, but TT manual ones = :)

I think they are too heavy, the styling looks good from some angles but completely obese from others and the interior is questionable - but at the end of the day, that engine...

2jz ftmfw

Yeah and he smashed it hahahaha

do turbo model supra's only come in TT?

im sure Nick(hulk's son) changed to a single turbo..confirmation....?

yeh i watch the show a fair bit.

Last night Hulk learned how to drift aswell to show Nick and Hulk ripped some nice circle work in a Practice 350z. not bad,not bad at all.. and yeh Nick was driving a Dodge Viper(drift car) i think,was all colourfull,

im only used to seeing Vipers in blue.

Nah its a HUGE trend with supras to flick the stock twin setup and put a T51R or T04Z on there

as much as it pains me to say this but a 2JZ (with turbo and plenum swapped positions) in a GTR would probaby the ultimate thing.

:) You're right, but something inside just tells me "but there's more to it than that..."

It's be unfair if the RB was stronger than 2JZ...the only fans Toyota would have would be mums dropping the kids off every morning ;)

Supra = cheap drag car

GTR = out-of-the-box circuit monster

was going to buy one till i sat in it... how small is the interior!! how crappy does it look... the back seat is pointless.. and most come in auto!!

exactly what I wanted to say...!!! I used to love supras until the day came when I actually sat in one.Me being 6ft tall i had the drivers seat pressed against the joke of a backseat.And even then I just couldnt believe how such a big car can be so small inside..Honda Integras have more interior room FFS.

Those who complain about the weight of the supra are totally misinformed, the supra weighs 1510kg go and check the weight of an r33 or 34 gtr and you will get a surprise.

The 2JZ shits all over the RB26 for strength, durability and potential. The six throttlebody manifold on the RB26 is a beautiful thing but is a negligable advantage in the overall scheme of things. Lets face it, that extra .4 of a litre more than makes up for those throttle bodies.

The 6 speed Getrag is near invinceable, there are supras popping the front wheels off the ground run after run will over 1000rwhp and still standing upto the power, torque and abuse on an unopened gearbox. It is possible to break one but very rare all the same unlike anything nissan.

Yes the stock turbos are a pain in the ass but there are many options if you are a switched on supra owner. There are many supras running high flowed steel wheeled twins making 320+rwkw. My cousins does 327rwkw on US spec factory turbos, there is now also a manufacturer who replaces the standard cartridge with a GT28R cartridge not to mention the number of single turbo kits available.

Traction issues, what traction issues??? You can fit 325's on the rear just by rolloing the lip and getting the right offset.

By the way, its just not a fair comparison. The supra so far above the gtst(which was the original caomparison remember?) its not fair to compare.

Supra Vs Gtr, well they are chalk and cheese and both have their strong and weak points.

I am not biased, i am experienced and have owned the cars in question plus many others and if i wanted many miles of trouble free enjoyable driving(sometimes a little spirited) then i would pick the supra. Skylines, including gtr's(the r34 less so) are just too expensive to make strong, reliable and powerful.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
