dont wanna type my rant 2wice so i'll ctrl-v it:

united have kingsway listed as having e85 on their website AND they told me it would be there when i called head office!

BUT ITS NOT THERE!

i went in today expecting to fill up and there is no pump... this is the SECOND time united have told me incorrect information relating to e85... last time after speaking to head office i drove out to buleen to NO avail!

UNBELIEVABLY disorganised company.... they dont have head office listed with directories, or even most of their outlets!

not happy jan.... srsly how freakin hard is it?

There is NO E85 on Kings Way yet.

I'll know as soon as there is because Lowth drives to the west with 4 jerry cans... he wouldnt be doing that if there was some on Kings Way because he's as lazy as i am :P

I think its listed on thier website as being there, but isnt actually "there" yet

well the tank is at 1/4 full (my standard refill point) and i have done 220k's, nomally i get 320...

so in essence.... if the price of e85 2/3 of the price of 98 then you are getting a free power increase..... and if its below 2/3 you are actually SAVING $$

220kms is that driving with feather foot or driving like how its ment to be driven.

i so want to go to e85 but its going to be a pain for long cruises like GOR or if i ever feel like taking a long drive. gotta carry Jerry cans in the boot.

so tempting to make the switch

You have a GTR? :)

yep, gone over to the dark side :D

Nathan's old 33 GTR... is a bit of an animal... would love to tune it on E85 as it runs the old Trust plain bearing turbos and although its not real laggy or wanting for power it would be a weapon with an E85 tune

pity you have to drive to woop woop to get the stuff!

320 to a tank?

Jebus... i get 400km's to a tank city driving... open road its closer to 550-600

read harder ash... :P

320k's to 1/4 tank.... i NEVER get it less than 1/4 so i wouldn't really know what i get to a full tank

read harder ash...

320k's to 1/4 tank.... i NEVER get it less than 1/4 so i wouldn't really know what i get to a full tank

Ah... ye :P Was late... lol

but 220km/s to 3/4 a tank

phark... you need a mobile tanker service

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
