COILPACKS2.jpg

We are proud to offer Skylines Australia the worlds best priced performance coil packs.

These are proving to be very popular in Australia and Overseas and have been on the market for around 8 years now with some very impressive results.

Here is what one of our happy customers had to say about them:

I've been running these Yellow Jackets now for 3 months in my R33 GTR. Still no problem with spark blowout as I previously did with the old coils, and still plenty of power!

Done 2 HARD track days with no problems at all. Even added extra timing. Now at 28deg at 8000rpm WOT! Over 320+kw now!

I have now bought a second set of Yellow Jackets for a mates R32 GTR which had a constantly changing misfire, even after gapping the plugs to 7mm and replacing them. He wanted to upgrade the turbo's for higher boost, so I said he would have to change the coilpacks. He was dubious that this would fix ALL his problems, so the turbo's were fitted. No improvement of the misfire after installing the turbos, running them in and resetting the ECU. So I fitted the coils, gapped the plugs to 1.1, and reset the ECU. He didn't believe me that this was going to work, but low and behold, smooth idle, acceleration, and cruise!

He couldn't believe the difference in the 'seat of your pants' feel in acceleration (stock boost).

Going to do a dyno run soon to see what the difference at stock boost is compared to original figures. Then a re-tune and add a boost controller.

Bang for buck, these Yellow Jackets cant be beat!

Unfortunately, out doing a "road test" in the R33 GTR, with the street tires, and now with bucket loads of extra torque, managed to break second gear. Same sort of use/abuse with the old coils packs couldn't produce the same 4 wheel power slides, just under heavy acceleration!

Luckily I had a spare gearbox, so I could make it to the track days.

Why pay twice the price for the same results........

What makes a S14/S15 coil pack different to all the other Nissan's

Cheers

Mainly size and fitment and also internal and operating characteristics.

The S14 and S15 coilpacks are also different from one-another.

What is it exactly that makes the internal operating charcteristics in a S15 coilpack different to some of the other Nissans?

Im not 100% sure at this point. I know mounting positions are different.

How did you manage to make coil packs for all the other nissans and then got stuck on s14/s15?

We havent gotten stuck on the S14/S15s, just havent gotten around to it yet and there is more demand for the Skyline types so they have been our priority.

:)

    • Great work! Thanks for documenting the process.
    • How would you even adjust the clutch if the pedal already has the correct free play? The operating cylinder has no adjustment in mounting position or rod length. On pull style clutches there is also no ability to adjust the bearing carrier. Push type I can see how adjusting the carrier height makes it all work.   If this is the twin plate clutch did you verify that your friction disks were oriented correctly? It's not mentioned in the directions at all you just have to notice that one side the friction disks have a part number on the hub fingers and a subtle coning to those fingers. Another thing that I noticed was if you put the friction disks in backwards the pressure plate fingers will not be even and flat when the clutch is installed.
    • yeah, mechanically, it is probably do-able, off the top of my head, there would be the transfer case, which I believe will bolt up to the rear of the RWD transmission, the shorter rear tail shaft. A front drive shaft, front diff, engine upper sump, front drive shafts, front hubs and front AWD struts (they are shaped around the front drive shafts), LCAs (at the very least from the front suspension) oil cooler.  You might want the rear diff from an AWD too, so you can be certain the front and rear diff rations are identical.  Who knows what brackets and mounts you might need.  So a whole doner car might be the best option if you need to maintain RHD. Then actually making it work, that would be a whole different story.
