im getting tired from this 9-5pm work lifestyle

I want my uni bum lifestyle back :P

edit; defect cleared, chucked on some stockies. Vicroads lady had no clue what "wheels protruding past body" meant. She just walked around the car putting her hand ontop of each wheel and went back inside lawl

why would u wana do 1000kz a week in an import? why not grab a daily

Because then I'd never drive the 2nd car. For example, I never touch my 300ZX twin turbo (as fun as it is to drive) other than a quick run around once a week to keep things in order.

I want a car that I can enjoy driving every day. Something I can boost a bit on the way to work or driving home from my girlfriend's place at 3am on a Friday night.

Get what I'm saying? MR2s do tend to be very reliable cars, I'm just a bit weary of the higher powered ones. Forged internals would put my mind to rest a bit more.

didnt you just buy a supra?

maybe stick with one car for now, save and buy a really really good example of the MR-gay that you want..

ps: wtf are the rims on the supra?

Had the Supra for a few months now. It's nice... but boring. Sure, it may "rip mad skidz" and go surprisingly quick for a NA but that's not what I look for in a car.

I used to wake up each morning and love driving my little MR2 to work. It was a blast. The Supra lacks that excitement.

As for the rims, they came with the car. I think they're just some aussie shit that TTF would sell. 18 matte black with a polished chrome lip. I don't really like them but I'm not going to bother changing them.

so jizzyboi... your car HAS to have had a respray and a kit? what if the paint is in good nick?

No no. Not necessarily. Just say the engine was 100%, interior was nice, wheels done BUT the paint was absolute shit, I wouldn't mind. I'd put that extra money into a respray and kit.

As for good paint already.. If it was black then I wouldn't respray it. However, I still don't like unkitted MR2s.

That's what I did with my last one. Paint was good all over except bonnet... So I resprayed the bonnet and added a kit. Chucked on new tail lights from Toyota (late model) and some clear indicators. Looked brand new. The only thing that car needed was decent wheels and slammage and it would have been perfect in my eyes.

for 1k a week driving id grab a stock 33 or something thatd be enough fun for the daily grind just get some half decent wheels lower it no kits or anything wont skip a beat, seems like a waste to do that many kz on any car

what do u do people smuggle ?

hiaces are shit

buy an isuzu NPR. the one outsides never skipped a beat. *touch wood*

and for 1000km a week, just buy a fkn falcon

on another note

have had a crapola, 512mb memory phone for a few weeks now. satio being delivered today

cannntttt f**kin wait

lol @ driving a sports car 1000k's a week. yeah fuck that off for a joke.

you want one of these:

toyota_caldina_gt_t_st246w.jpg

Caldina GT-Four. They only come in triptronic auto, but sport the best and last 3SGTE's to come out of toyota. 2003 model, parts are common across models. Basically a AWD Celica with a wagon body.

Shit's hot. nga's won rallies and shit with this platform, unlike shitty old roadsters toyota made.

Failing that get a 2000 - 2002 Gen2 Caldina GT-T wagon, that should actually be well within your budget.

I appreciate them but it just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather catch the train.

JZX100?

good idea buy a r34, but mainly buy mine :laugh:http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Eo...72#entry5122772

you can pick up a 2000 model GTt for about 15k/16k now. Shitty market for sellers.

i dont do 1k, bout half that but thats pretty much exactly what i've done. does me well. although i dont think an=bout changing cars every few weeks

also my mate got offered 3.5k for a set of advan trispokes in what look to be approx 9inch width and middling offset (flush on stock r33) by the boys down at traction tyres. they knew some one who wanted the same specs but it turned out that the dude had ordered them from japana couple of months ago. wtf? he paid 500 for them originally.

I don't think about it every few weeks.

Had an MR2. Got a crazy offer. Of course I accepted it. Mum bought me a Supra as a 21st present (along with my MR2 money) and now I'm bored with it.

I like MR2s. End of story.

Shan, JZX100 are nice but if I was going down the 2JZ route I may as well buy a turbo Supra.

ive had my 33 as a daily since i got it

i got it on 58,000 and its now got 230,000 and still goes alright

had an absolute ball in it and its had very little go wrong

but it does cost more than a normal bog stock family car

ie tyres, fuel, insurance etc are always higher but so is the fun factor

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
