that picture is from http://www.engineeredtoslide.com

he uses double spacers under the lift pads to get extra height, so would need to jack it up first

my cars all go on fine, but my 33 is 100mm legal height

yeah, you can see the holes in the black post in the picture.. one has the silver locking bar in it for max height. at the base of the arms.

just a 20mm rod of steel through holes, other position is half height

I finally used mine on the weekend to take the race tyres off the leaf and return it to road life.  About 2 hours from wrapped in plastic to wheel change complete. There's a bit of stuffing around bleeding the hydraulics the first time but very straightforward to use. I've got the 12v version so it is theoretically portable, but each frame is very heavy to lift.

Probably slower than a jack and stands on a car where you have it down pat, but it does lift stuff off the ground which is the whole point. And lifting by the sills keeps the underside of the car nicely accessible.

But it doesn't seem like good value for occasional/weekend use to me. Also, if you buy one check the measurements of the jack against each car you want to lift. The Leaf is just hatchback sized but the biggest quickjack only made it by about 200mm

I'm leaning more towards the Happ Half height. They have been great to deal with so far.

Just working out where to put it in my shed to maximise height and usable floor space but also still working through how long we think we'll stay here.

Is this thread still a thing?

Picked up one of these to make clutch changes on stands a hell of a lot easier.

Picked mine up from VEK tools for under $600 and have used a handful of times so far. You can also buy from the snap on man and it comes with a bluepoint sticker instead of a tradequip sticker lol.

Have to spin my box around 90deg to get it out and in. Is it still possible with one of these or does it get in the way?

I haven't used the floor style one, but on the hoist style one which is effectively the same but taller...yes you can still rotate the box to clear that hump.  Just need to undo the safety chain or leave it loose.  The 4 fingers that stick up are also adjustable or removable if they get in the way.

That style of jack is a lot more stable that the regular small pad floor jack.

Besides a proper hoist

this thing and the 10mm socket is my second love614A9542-64B7-4675-B142-AD3D52C898C8.thumb.jpeg.55fd85f244df787bb5db72bb431408b2.jpeg

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
