A group of us are going this Saturday.

Is the parking for spectators under gound / covered?

Its the showgrounds - street parking only.

And given the housing commission flats basically across the road, i'd be parking behind the showgrounds, behind ascot vale leisure centre etc.

Nowhere near the Union rd/flats area. (have a look @ melways to work it out).

Ok no worries!

Just came back from it, Tickets were $29 for adults, $15 for under15, and $60 for family (2 adults and 2 children).

It was my first Autosalon so i cant compare it to previous ones, but i cant say that i was overly impressed.

It was majority JDM cars, which i was pleased about......as for the dyno, out of the 7 cars i saw take a punt i was really impressed with the

2.0L 180sx which had a "Chasers" decal on the front windshield which hit 500.9kw @ the rear wheels.

i enjoyed the CR33M R33 gts-t which got around 270kw i thiiiink (not sure) as it was the only SAU member i saw.

others were a Shelby GT500 which if i remember correctly hit around 330-360kw

and the one i cant forget, a Honda CR-X which hit an amazing 75kw!! -.-

lol...yeah but everyone knows 75kw in a honda is equivalent of 500kw in a skyline...

its like dog years is to human years... :)

So is it worth going or not????

its worth going for the chix, lets leave it at that

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
