Unique Cars #372 currently has an ADM f/s from WA. Page 207. Reg No GTR091. Is this one on your list?

Yes Terry,

That's been for sale for a long time sadly.

They were black cars..........BUT..........

They were not part of the 100 special build.

They were part of the 4-6 evaluation cars that Nissan brought in for testing and compliance testing.

I can't confirm whether there were 4 or 6 of these cars I'm getting both numbers quoted from various sources.

As you can see with my attached pics, the VIN is well before the first batch of 50 cars.

The Japanese ID tag doesn't have the 40Z prefix either that were assigned to the ADM's.

Cheers,

Bob.

Hi Bob - and everyone else, long time reader first time contributor!

Bob, have you had any luck identifying the original 'prototypes' brought in separately to the 100 ADM's?

I understand there is a blue one in Melbourne - just hearsay though.

Hi mate and welcome..........

I know of 3 prototypes....... The interesting thing about them is the VIN's.

They are numbers ending with 11260, 11266 and 11268. So...... were there 9 in total if you fill in the blanks?

I was contacted privately by the gentlemen who owns the blue one in Melbourne (TH1 paintcode). It's not hearsay, it's fact.

Another one, (Gun Metal Grey) is currently for sale on Carsales and the 3rd was the Falken Bathurst 12hr car.

If anyone else knows the whereabouts of any of the others that would be great.

Cheers,

Bob.

Very funny. :D:D:D:D:D

It was actually the wheels that got me thinking it was you........

Let's face it, silver ADM with those wheels. Not many of them around!

Only 24 ever made and I know of at least 1 that has gone to god!

Hi guys,

A good friend of mine bought the green car off Bob Roman in the early noughties. It had the original interior back in it and the only mods were the gear knob, ARC intake air filter box, wheels (not the ones in the AR&T article) and aftermarket suspension. It changed a bit in the years that he had it.

It saw a fair few track days around Sydney and at one stage it was being prepared for Targa Tasmania (but never made it). I remember it kissed the wall at Oran Park and needed to have the whole side resprayed. When we pulled the trim apart we found that it was actually a metallic red car, not black. I'm sure from memory that it had a dark engine bay though. I remember there was something odd about the colour code on the build plate too.

The last time I saw it, it had gold painted R33 GTR wheels on it and his then girlfriend was driving it around.

He eventually sold it about 8-9 years ago to a guy in QLD. I'd love to know where it is now.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
