I bought a new headunit, pioneer one with USB and Bluetooth for $200 cost it was last years one. Pretty happy with that one

I also have a word of warning to ppl thinking of getting alloy radiators, I don't think they can be cleaned like conventional radiators. Mine has blocked up and now heats up on the highway or going uphill for too long :( fml

Lesson learned: ALWAYS get car parts delivered to work (dependant on work site of course).

Oh, and nice looking Stag! :)

Car is looking awesome dude, time for a new gf though? tongue.gif

thanks - it looks much nicer with the caps on and the front lip installed, but had to remove that - driveway entrance to the apartment is too steep and it scrapes.

next step will be vinyl wrap on the roof and mirrors, then detail the engine bay.

got maxima gas struts for the bonnet, and a radiator air guide to install this weekend.

Looks tough with those BBS; very nice.

Time for G/f retraining.:whistling:

well, i decided to get stuck into my stagea exhaust once again,

i currently have a huge Jasma rear cannon AND a set of twin 3" blast pipes that i change between(jasma for long trips, blast pipes for fun)

But the car has been running the blast pipes for the last month or so and i have been getting sick of the massive drone at low revs.

I concocted a simple plan....make some bigger 3.5" blast pipes with hidden hot dogs.

Since i work at a Holden dealer i grabbed a couple of discarded VE SS hot dogs, these are 2.25" and are of high quality.

DSC01513.jpg

i bought a couple of short lengths of 3.5" pipe, and one larger length of 3".

Previously i have bought premade 2 into 1 collectors, but i figured i'd save some money and make my own

DSC01526.jpg

DSC01527.jpg

the 3.5" pipe was the exact same diameter as the hot dogs, which works well for stealthyness plan

i attached my homemade collectors, which still had to be trimmed up.

after a bit of smoothing with the angle grinder aand a flapper disc, they got a coat of heatproof black paint and were fitted up to my old rear section.

DSC01540.jpg

after running the car for a little while to bake the paint on i took it for a test run.

thecar sound exactly the same, maybe a bit depper, but my annoying drone is all but gone.

and it now pops bigger flames because my tailpipe area is retaining more heat

You and your flames...

Looks great Robbie, you going to keep them on for the cruise?

definately, these ones have no more drone and a nice note, so they can stay on for good.

my jasma cannon is going to be relegated to the defect clearing section of the shed :whistling:

Looks great man. Excactly what i was going to do.... Are they 19 x 9.5 +22 (per chance :whistling: )From a guy in Brissy??

Note to self: Don't drive behind Robbie on the next cruise!

the stagea got a fresh sump full of oil this week, the new exhaust, some fresh tyres and a wheel align.

And i finally pulled the centre of my dash apart to fix some rattles and re-route my ipod and av connectors to the centre console.

It turns out that the little tray under the lid is the perfect size for an iphone or ipod

On the hunt for an immobiliser. And desperate to get it on ASAP due to the recent mass car jacking that took place here in Canberra the other nite. FFFUUUUUU!

I got one of these from an SDU group buy from the US:

http://www.yulontech....asp?infoid=122

It provides location if the car is moved out of a set area...(will send you an sms message with its location) or you can phone it to ask for its location. You can immobilise the car remotely with your cell phone etc etc

was on the Monash Fwy today behind a truck and something fell off it...I had no chance to dodge and it went under the car.

Made some loudass bangs.

Now when I accelerate hard my car makes clicky/rattling noises...great >_<

Checked under the car and now I have 3 bigass dents in the exhaust system...farrrk.

Dropped the oil and topped up with Motul. As usual the filter was on too tight by the previous guy who did it (RVO auto) and I had do the whole stab the filter with the screw driver thing...made a huge mess...arrgh.

also raised the rear suspension by a few cm...hopefully that'll minimise anymore scrapage...

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
