Just picked up the M35 and first impressions...

Seating height is much better imo which was the main inspiration for the seat swap. I'll get a few pics once the sun comes out.

The aero front bar is also awesome however one of the driving lights needs a new globe :(

Pics please!

Managed to clear my defect today (wheels too wide [cops around here aren't so great]) by painting and fitting these R33 stockies. They look stupid but at least it's cleared.

Also installed new bonnet struts so I can FINALLY work under the bonnet without the risk of skull damage haha.

Never before in the field of human endeavour has so little been achieved in so much time by just one man.

Today I replaced a 3 inch length of 5/16" hose on my turbo watercooling return line.

It took four farken hours go to woah; I feel like a retard.

I noticed a significant drop in the rad recovery bottle a few days ago, and when I went looking; I found coolant all over the passengers side steering rack boot. Turbo is directly above this area; great!

Looked around, no real signs of failed hoses but coolant stains on the hard line, hmmm...

After removing the hose, it looks like the hose is delaminated internally due to the radiant heat of the exh manifold, and forcing coolant up the reinforcing braiding and out the cut ends of the hose.

Then did a cooling system flush and new coolant.

As per protocol; thanks go to Scotty for the cooling system mod, which make bleeding the cooling system a breeze.

Good job Scotty. ;)

ok photo time now that it's finally stopped raining near the beach :P

Everyone has seen an aero front bar before so i only took 1 quick photo.

The others are just random pics of the GTR seats.

The car is pretty messy atm but due to the weather i haven't had the chance to give it a decent clean...

Dude they look so good. What's the comfort level like?

If I had the black interior I would definitely be putting this high on the mod list.

It's taken a bit to get use to comfort wise and i am finding myself fiddling a bit with the seat position but i'll get it right. The biggest improvement is the height... so much better as now the rear view mirror doesnt obstruct you view at all through the front window.

I didn't but i did take notice when i was carrying them and to be honest i would say the weight was very similar.

The drivers M35 seat may have been ever so slightly heavier but that may have been due to the air bag solenoid + locking set up... I could barely tell the difference.

Noice! Excuse my ignorance but what are the two switches in front of the cup holder. My RX only has the one switch on the console for the attesa.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
