Own one auto and own one manual...both make you appreciate the other.

When I was minding Alvin's car, it was bliss for daily driving. Then I'd get in my car and it felt like a sports car / weekender again, not a daily as I used it before.

Driving a RWD will make me a sexual Tyrannosaurus? lol

hell yes it does!

the only thing driving an auto makes you appreciate is penis

Hand over the keys to me :P

Lol :P

How long between starts?

Mine goes flat after 2-3 weeks (gel battery) so I suspect an electrical fault somewhere?

Well I haven't driven it more than 2kms in maybe a month - started it once a week - though went to start it on Sunday and was flat, jumped it - went to start it today and flat again lol - though I only let it idle on Sunday - probably should of taken it for a bit of a drive..

how much quicker?

Well here's some of the 1/4 times for the 5.0s as you can see fair bit of difference.

Rockape........ 13.40 @ 108mph. Manual GS.

Generally just over half a sec which is a fair bit when down in times like these, I think the effect is even worst when they're modded / more power in them. You can also see how the GTs have a better tune from factory than the GS's in the stock comparisons.

This list hasn't been updated in ages though. One guy in a manual GT is really trying to break into the 10s hard and just cant do it, he has like 450rwkw or something lol 11.1s I think best he has got.

Only had a tune and slicks, CRAZY to get 11.3 with only that.

Once you start getting into the really fast times, autos reign superior in the straight line race; always have always will.

This man speaks the truth

Also why all the tuner shops got auto ones lol

There was a bloke at High School who we always gave crap to because he drove around in his mums car and pretended it was his own.

We'd call it the "Baby Blue Honda Jazz"... and without fail he'd always yell "It's ICE BLUE!!!!" and when we gave him crap about it being auto, he'd say that autos were faster at the drag strip... *shakes head slowly*

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
