Birds
Anybody know if there is any difference between the RB26 in a R33 GTR and a R34 GTR?R33 RB26 runs on petrol or ethanol if tuned for itR34 RB26 runs on sheer arrogance and pleasant smelling feces, from factory 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433138 Share on other sites

T.D
Yeh.. security guards come with the 34 engine R34 made of unobtainium, R33 mere metal. R33 RB26 runs on petrol or ethanol if tuned for it R34 RB26 runs on sheer arrogance and pleasant smelling feces, from factory LOL! Ahhhh, THAT "R34 GTR only meet" memory still lingers hahaha Bit too broad of a question. Which variant and in what area? There are numerous minor changes. Also this. Just the turbos / dumps the MAIN change I thought? yea dumps are different. I'm asking mainly because I'm doing some research for my next project (for like, 2 years down the track LOL) and am considering either a R33 GTR or R34 GTR. Problem is, R34 owners still think selling a tidy 34R for almost the same price as a 2nd hand 35 is reasonable. Which has lead me to consider the R33 GTR as being the most bang for buck within the next 2 years. Basically looking to make a somewhat responsive ~400awkw on E85, using twin low mounts (either -5s or -10s, going by the research I've been doing) with a stock underbonnet look (EAD EPA!!). Have noticed ALOT of 34Rs hitting these figures (or close to) but not hearing too much about the 33Rs doing the same. Birds
A 33R is easily the best value R going around if you want a fast R No surprise though, the same is true for the GTS-Ts 32 is in classic territory and owners with bubbles dashes selling for a grand two under 33R prices, sometimes more, despite the 33R being mechanically superior 34R remains twice the price of a 33R for something of similar condition and modification level 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433145 Share on other sites
Leroy Peterson
Is it because GTR or because 400awkw? (Serious question) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433151 Share on other sites

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the 33R is the most bang for buck at the moment. What about in terms of extracting engine performance compared to the 34? Mainly based around my goal of hitting ~400awkw with a stock looking engine bay? Is it because GTR or because 400awkw? (Serious question) Because both Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433154 Share on other sites
Birds
Don't see why it would be any easier on the 34 when you have to swap turbos for that anyway. GTS-Ts make close to that with E85 with big highflows, should be able to get it with big RB26 highflows for a stock look or -7s for a little less stock Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433157 Share on other sites
UNR33L
Suppose with a GTST you get an extra 10k ish playing money straight away. Although that 10k will disappear fast so almost worth going the GTR, depends how serious you want to get involved on track I guess. If it was me I'd be looking for a half done 33R (money already spent on turbos/built engine etc) and proof with receipts and stretch budget of car purchase to ~28k ish depending on mods and quality ofcourse.. Mohsen
400awkw is easily achievable, ash did it with a stock looking bay, and so did george.-5s and the most aggresive tune known to man. What about in terms of extracting engine performance compared to the 34? Mainly based around my goal of hitting ~400awkw with a stock looking engine bay? Because both rb26's all pretty much same same cept slightly different If its just power you can do it pretty easily with an rb25 too, but if you want the traction yeah get a GTR and agreed a 33r is where its at. 34r costs twice as much when a 33r is 95% of the car a 34R is Also securty guards arent cheap 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/379859-vic-wasteland-thread/page/3619/#findComment-7433175 Share on other sites

Odium
Just drove my baby home... damn it feels good now Made 277kw with a lovely looking fat curve. Went via Pedders Ringwood (unannounced) and jumped in a queue for an alignment. 4 hours of walking around Eastland, watching the locals, later. All done and good to go and it's ready for Saturday.I'm *shudder* driving *shudder* to the work Christmas party on Friday night.
