I suspect those people largely voted for the Greens... who continue to trumpet their own relevance despite holding probably 1 of the 88 seats in the lower house

This.

Nah labor won't destroy things they'll jut send us broke as they've proven for last 30-40 years

Try find last federal labor government to leave a surplus ...

Oh that's right, I remember now... We all lived on the streets until liberal got in. How silly of me to forget...

Lol yeah I don't know why people always go on about a country or state being I debt...

Liberals are trying to introduce a new act that basically guts the construction industry, which is why companies, like mine, have not yet signed a new EBA

Such an uneducated statement. Let me guess your happy to pay ambos more, police more, firefighters more so long as your tax doesn't go up? Tax the rich am I right? Only problem is they don't have enough "rich" people to cover it all..

No disrespect to ambos etc I take my hat off to them but the amount of idiots all saying Yeh pay em more go labor haven't stopped to ask where is labor gonna get the money if liberal don't have it? ... borrow it and go into debt? Raise taxes from their core voter base of course not..

But if you can't see that labor is systemically incompetent then I don't know what to say

Absolute howler dezz

"don't know why", yet you will keep rolling out the same flawed logic time and again.

I know why, it's because you learnt macroeconomics from the ETU

Not sure if it common knowledge but the burnley tunnel is actually sinking. Causing lots of drama with infrastructure above, below and around it. You wouldnt be happy if your 15mil dorra estate on the yarra river started shifting and changing... Not much you can do about it (except temp patch it up, add it to the sale cost and flog it off)

I don't pretend to understand economics, but when the media throw numbers and words around regarding debt, billions, trillions etc... they make it sound like it's a 30 year old couple with a billion dollar mortgage..

But the sure fire way to fix it is to cut everyones wages, because that will surely solve the problem. The big builders will surely lower their prices and pass the savings on to the client..

lol.

Cut tradie wages, f**k paying the ambos more too. But it's all good for real estate agents etc to be earning enough to drive lambos..

Still don't understand why cutting defense spending has never been and never will be an option.

Its funny because the defense forces cut more corners than a pastry chef, but the amount dedicated to their spending is huge.

I know gear is expensive, but so much of it is old and poorly maintained (not from unreliable sources but when its so common via word of mouth...)

I wonder how much goes to veteran affairs or retired high ranking peeps (just out of curiosity).

as if we don't spend it apparently china will invade...

and we don't have oil so USA will not come help us.

yeah that basically the justification

plus jets are cool

not enough..with time share (i'm assuming we all get to borrow them now and then) only get a day every decade or so, we should have more!

Gotta keep those military bosses happy. Maybe he plans to re-sell them in 10-15 years to developing countries to make back some costs... Not many people going to buy Navy boats second hand, thats why they all get dumped as museum pieces around Australian piers

but all the other prime minsters have jets so why cannot he!

Anyhow it was happening no-matter which government got in we had paid for part of the development and committed under Labour, it was just the purchase was under Liberals and labour would ahve done same thing:

Opposition leader Bill Shorten supports the purchase, saying the previous Labor government believed the F-35 was an appropriate addition.

“There had been some problems in terms of aspects of the aircraft but it appears that they have been ironed out, so Labor does think that the addition to our air force is the right way to go,” he said.

I can imagine military leaders spitting chips for not getting any new or modern gear for years so after heaps of pestering someone just said "here, have some planes, now shuttup"

Now we can better support the next american war from a greater distance.

Unrelated: guys at work swapping Bali stories. I wasnt surprised when they said they stayed at the Hard Rock Cafe hotel. Looooooool. I can picture the bintang singlets in photo realism

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart.
