Brought it home yesterday, pulls like a freight train... midrange definitely changes a car way more than top end power does. before it was breaking traction (265 ad08r) at the top of 2nd and chirping 3rd, now it's breaking traction for most of 2nd and if I change into 3rd hard it'll keep it going. Need to get used to that...

You need to work on your suspension setup more.

My car had more midrange / power and didn't break traction at all in second without a clutch kick,

and that was on worse tyres aswell (on both NT05 & KU36) and not the most advanced setup under the sun

(greddy coils 6/8 low and on hardest setting, pineapples, castor bushes, swaybars and 1.5 way diff)

The only time it broke traction in second was 20+ psi on e85 (325rwkw) but on low boost ~ 15psi (300rwkw) or 98 it was just plant foot and forget about it in all but 1st gear

Cricketer Adam Gilchrist just cut in line to get on the plane from Perth > Mel.

Disrespecting my platinum status.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why he in Perth and then travelling to melb?

because who gives a f**k?

variability.

I don't know how dyno dynamics calculates engine torque...obviously some sort of correction for it; maybe it's open to

Now, folks, I don’t wanna alarm ya, but scientists say ninety percent of Australia's dyno's… are reading torque crooked.

Yep, it’s true. And I hear you asking: “Well, who’s gonna straighten out all these overtorqued abominations?” Your friends? A neighbor? Those fat cats at Washington? Good luck. Hey, you know, maybe no one’ll notice! Maybe the problem with ju-u-u-st fix itself.

You sound like you’re ready to become your own boss in the exciting world of Hub Dyno'ing!

Yes, for a minimal franchise fee, you’ll receive a pair of Hubbing gloves, a cannister of hub lubricant and a booklet of the most commonly asked questions you will hear, including: “Who are you?” and “What are you doing here?”

I have over 300kw/4WD and still can't match your times. Practice and suspension set up plays a big part in that I think. I struggle big time with corner speed.

I am hoping to shave 10-15 seconds a lap with my new MCA reds in the Evo, but bumping the boost 10psi only got me 1/2 a second at PI. I totally agree with this.

Pretty normal for E85 to be unresponsive and choke up with a cold engine. Spark plug heat range prolly a factor too.

Once started I can use the throttle immediately, but I always roll it on slow...if I stab too quickly idle drops. It also need a bit more revs when cold and letting the clutch out for take off or it will die in the ass. After a couple mins of driving or idling it runs fine and dandy with dat super response, but I've learnt how to drive it so that I can start it and start driving basically straight away.

As for actually starting, that depends how pure the E85 is in the tank. While there's still some petrol in there, starts will be easy. With pure E85 and on cold mornings mine can take 2-3 cranks to turn over. Helps to add a minuscule amount of throttle as I turn the key. Warmer weather and it's first crank good to go.

You need more cold start enrichment and cranking enrichment.

cos you drive like a hoon not a racing driver lolololol

this. 30% extra fuel on start up.

FFS how long do you want to take in the lounge shower. GTFO already.

Tourists treating it like a day spa.

only done PI twice I think.

but yes suspension and brakes is where its at.

when I know I can 100 percent know what will happen when I do something gives you the chance to throw it in harder.

and the boys at pedders got my set up to just where I like it.

was fun they gave me a good baseline, then went back a few times with feedback on what the car was doing and they dialed in what I was looking for.

suddenly it all came right and made the car awsome to drive.

going to spend most of this year getting it back to this state. then aim to go faster.

I can understand the need to try and fit more people in for a spa treatment, but 20 mins does seem quite short. Just as you are starting to attempt relaxation and unwind, your time is up! The treatment would feel rushed, defeating the purpose of unwinding and relaxing.

50 mins though was a bit overboard. I think a 30 minute treatment would be the ideal sweet spot, between actually having a decent treatment and providing more appointments.

Could someone by the way please answer for me if the opening times for Aurora spa going to change I.e. Possibly extend opening times.

It doesn't get much more first world problem than that

Google'd best 1st world problems and this came up

I work in a shared office, and to get in you have to wave your ID card in front of the reader to unlock the door. Normally, you can just leave your card in your wallet and wave your wallet in front of the reader and it works.

One day, my coworker (who's in a higher-paid position than I am) complained that the reader couldn't detect her card through her wallet because she had "too much money in there."

Sometimes, life is hard.

Does +$400 and some bargaining get a Samsung or Sony tv down to kogan pricing levels?

not quite but the difference is small enough that I won't care.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
