I try and warn people the PFC is a 20 year old piece of dinosaur tech, and it's worth $20 in the scheme of things. There have been better options for many years but everyone still gags over them.

The beauty of the PFC is experience with so many tuners and the ease of replacement if you get EPA'd

I've had det on E85, when I had an intake leak and it was running too RICH...

That aint det Simon, it's spark breaking down.

I had det on e85, but i was running 22:1 on cruise while fiddling.

Any plug in ecu would have the same benefits, Haltech do a plug in too.

What sort of power/torque increases have the 86 people seen from it?

Not sure, the guy was SAU so it wouldn't be hard to ask... There were two running at PI, and I know at least one was on e85, the one in my group.

I wouldn't buy one these days with adaptronic and haltech available, but I've had mine for 5 years and rather than getting another 98 tune done on another twice as expensive ECU and then getting the E tune on top of it, a simple retune for E was the viable option for me.

It's still popular because every tuner can do them, they are plug and play and cheap and do the job just fine for all but serious racers. People love the hand controllers too lol

hey guys booked it in with freddy at nisma in thomo for that 700rwkw methanol tune with 9s and gt42 with 2 speed powerglide hollinger.

wot could go wrong?

Don't forget you will need twin SUS power filterz mate for that power.

Not sure if mocking perfectly sensible concept

I just don't see why some douche who did a medical degree for 6 years or put in the hard yards / cut back on spending habits when he was younger should own his own house when I'm stuck renting in Richmond and can barely afford music festivals let alone the repayments on my 3 series

I get 10L per hundred from e85 in the Evo, on the open road. Pretty good, but I doubt you will get that with the V8.

Yeah on 98 I'll get about 8-9l per hundred cruising at 110km/h just purrs

Actual city / daily driving it sits at about 15l/100 on average, about what's expected I guess.

heard ric once paid a bitch 2.25mil to suck his dick...

Birds, get Nistune and flex.

Done.

Last time I spoke to Trent he said 86's make something like 110 kw stock, and 145ish on E85 with nothing else done.

He also said they were pretty terrible car, widly not worth the money.

1:51 at PI doe...

Sorry Birds, he was in the 86/brz club. Craig Furniss with the BRZ, managed a 1:54 I think.

I'm surprised more of these guys aren't doing the supercharger or turbo conversions; that chassis has so much potential as a track car

Must be too new for people to want to risk their engines lol

Each to their own but there's nothing else for the same money that comes close in looks, handling and rwd...there's a reason they're farkin everywhere these days...Toyota found a niche and filled it. They will be the next big P plater and tuner car once turbo/blower conversions become more widespread and the second hand market value comes down a lot.

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
