Birds it doesnt look the same though. I have had pumps look much healthier than that one and be completely dead due to far less sediment. Ive also seen my Walbro after some time as it tends to come in and out of my tank a bit..

If you are gonna go 1 pump (which is always better than 2 pumps) then pay the $40 extra and get a pump that will flow 450rwkw on E85.

I'm not following the logic here - are we blaming the fuel pump for how much sediment is at the bottom of a fuel tank? It's what's inside the fuel pump that fails - someone showing an external pic of a fuel pump with sediment covering the mesh shows no failure by cause of the pump...it shows long term use in a dirty tank with the pump mounted too low to the bottom. This will kill any pump eventually, even with a sick filter.

Why? I don't have 450rwkw in the GTS-T and never will...and cbf with wiring and cutting to use a different pump. The 040 is perfectly capable of flowing 600hp+ which is more than I'll need and has been trialed by myself to last 5 years when it's only warrantied for 1. Plenty of people kill walbros and an E85 pump - still don't understand what makes it an E85 pump - is no exception to the same rules that kill non E85 fuel pumps in non E85 tanks.

From the testing I've seen, TWO 255lph pumps running through the factory fuel lines, provides a higher fuel pressure for longer than a single 460lph or similar. 1 pump is not always better than 2.

What I meant was... You don't want 2 pumps and have one die on you.... It's far better to only have 1 pump.. If that pump were to die..

For what birds is doing, the 040 is fine... My point about it dying is my ones died and they looked clean as from the outside. One that looked that clogged but still worked is pretty amazing to me. They didn't need 'much' gunk to die... For me, and I went through 3 of them before I switched to pumps which had external filters (daetschwerks then a 460 when I needed dat flow)

Yeah, I'm gonna go with, stick another 040 in there, or put a 465lph Walbro in there. Either will be fine.

Man, those 040's are crap. Just get the 460L and be done.

You have a store now? Come a long way since the odd job who used to walk into my office/shed to pick up his Sougi!

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
