Brazil is much over rated.

and dangerous...

and a bloody bloody long flight(s)

for north brazil will be:

Melb -> syd

Syd -> santiago chile

santiago -> brasilia

brasilia -> mine..

count on 2 days at least.

ouch, the adventure sounds fun, but it will probably wear off after a couple of months..

considering Ill be living on the mine site, its not like I can do tourist things on the weekend.

doesn't 28 on mean you don't have a weekend anyway

lol they're letting you apply the new policy proactively?

I lose 2 of the 12 weeks that I have already used up as secondary carers leave

it is to be applied once the mother's leave has finished, so sept/oct/nov

doesn't 28 on mean you don't have a weekend anyway

yeah what I meant is that I don't have any time to experience the country so the appeal of the destination is mute.

The difference would be the commute time as pointed out.

yeah I got pinned @ ~135 in a 100 on the way back from the first buller cruise and he dropped it down to 19 over or something so I wouldn't lose my license.

It was just an overtake move :/

Country cops FTW!

Fk country cops

Whenever I get pulled over by them they make a big thing about me being from the "city". We don't take kindly to people like you fkin up our peaceful little town blah blah

How dare I cross over double lines to park at 2am with no one in sight

FARKEN LOL

1st day back at work after 8 weeks off paid and a new policy is introduced that new dad's get 12 weeks paid.

looks like i'll be having more time at home!!!

Heard about this on Q and A lastnight...which was a disgusting feminist fest by the way...featuring an all female panel to make a point about female CEOs. Could have played a drinking game with the irrational contradictions that flowed through. Some of these idiots actually believe that females have a glass ceiling in industries where more managers are men...but in industries where there are more females in management, that's just because it's a "female dominant industry". I wanted to shove Lego bricks down their throats.

Anyway, I went off on a bit of a tangent there. Lucky you, Hamish.

Do employers HAVE to pay extra for working a public holiday (yesterday?) mrs worked it and now shes being told shes just getting paid normal rates.. (a casual if that makes any difference)

I was under the impression that employers had to at least pay time and a half??

Edited by UNR33L

Dunno about that, but they can't force someone to work on a public holiday

I thought organisations did it because it was hard to get casuals to work on them with normal rates

depending on your contract they can.

When I was help desk at telstra you could not say didn't want to work a public holiday, they would laugh at you. the helpdesk must go on.

prob same for nursing and such.

yeah, thing is they asked if anyone wanted to work it so it wasn't 'forced'

nek minit not paying any extra (She does like insurance claim stuff for a large insurance company)

I am required to work all public holidays. China doesn't stop because its Easter/Christmas.

No additional pay as its part of the contract.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
