Lolz at Simon, 'take your slow Gts-t and go home' hahaha that really cracked me up, how many awkw wast that T04Z GTR??, i think i dont like my GTT anymore...

430rwkw, that video it was only running about 400rwkw

It was a rocket man, why would you give that GTR up for a sideways sliding GTS-t....me no understand..

I sold my GTR for a deposit on my house. I bought my Gts-t for cheap after that and having been building it up since

Sensible driving, unless you took off like a granny, 1st gear in a high powered gtst is useless as soon as it comes onto boost it's wheel spin and same with second. In the rain.... Omg you have absolutely no chance of getting near boost. The gtst is quick don't get me wrong, but when it comes onto boost say on the on ramp like you said from 60 or 80 you just wait to correct the steering wheel if it completely breaks traction or it's twitchy fighting for grip.

The gtr just has a feeling of immense power and torque and when you get on the go pedal hard or soft there is no worries about grip. You have to look ahead to see how far the car is ahead of you as it just picks up speed über quick.

The gtr is able to use its power on all of its range and gears without issues to be quick, the gtst is fast once you get past the looseness and wheel spin.

Yeah but it takes a massive amount of man essence to pilot that rwd GTST. A school girl could drive a GTR fast though.

I'm not denying that, that's why sometimes I would like to have a 300kw gtst cause there so much fun. The thing I'm learning about the gtr compared to the gtst but is how fast you pick up speed because there is no wheel spin, you have to be careful of how far cars are ahead of you before you bring it onto full boost.

Has anyone with a GTS25t or GTt with around 400kw tried them on MT ET street radials?? I've been in a 10s R33 and on street tyres it was definitely a joke below 4th, though seen vids of Supras in the states with mental power being relatively composed on radials more suited to the purpose

it's all in the setup...

i have had a 300rwkw gtst for around 3 years now with a fairly responsive setup, and for me it all comes down to tyres.

Usually i run Nitto NT-05's (only in a 235) and with them i can smash the firewall in any gear with no worries providing I keep it set on low boost (300rwkw). on full boost (325rwkw) it's a little beyond the possibilities of the rubber, but still very predictable.

but an R with the same power to weight and response will eat a gtst every time

But how much more power does a GTR need to compensate for the extra weight of the 4WD system.

My 300ish killer wasp T was keeping up with, and beating a few 300ish killerwasp Rs, needless to say they were not doing 8k launches, and last time I was at the drags a old VL was smashing everything with its old RWD system.

It's not as simple as "It's a GTR man"

Let's settle this at the next SAUNSW drag day, I'll race for icecreams and coffees, I'll be in my RWDFTW boat, I'll race any simular powered GTR on the day.

It's funny how people think GTR's somehow drive themselves around corners. They do bite if you get it wrong!

This... Is quite true.

While wrxs and evos can be piloted by any gumby, I've only been in one GTR on a track where the driver knew how to drive it.

Remember attessa (awd) doesn't come into effect on a GTR until the back comes loose...

So to be quick, you must get the back loose, point the front where you want to go and open the throttle... Most people back off at the point of the loose rear. Most GTRs only get there awd used on the launch for this reason...

Your in mark!

I'm I'll be running my 400ish rwkw tune though, that will even up our displacement difference ;)

quick rough maths says around 23% (assuming 1350kg gtst and 1750kg gtr)

so ~300rwkw gtst = ~370awkw gtr

You must be talking about the 35 GTR...

Must remember torque is goin to play a large role in this as well, it's not just all killerwasps

Remember attessa (awd) doesn't come into effect on a GTR until the back comes loose...

Not all the time. It's determined by steering angle, speed, RPM and throttle position. If you go back to 2nd or 3rd on the freeway and nail it for example, you will see the torque gauge rise and fall.

shit... sorry, you are correct... so assuming 1550kg for a 33

figure would be more like ~340awkw

makes a bit more sense ;)

also i'm not taking torque into account at all here... just power/weight

+1

Mine will do it even taking off mid-throttle from the lights. No chance there would be wheelspin, but it sends power up front regardless for quite a while longer than you'd think.

But then i do have a modded transfer case, wondering if that makes a difference or not as well.

Mine does it too pulling away from lights. Might go to to 10kg/m for a second or two then back to zero.

I was neck and neck with an R35 GTR down the main straight of EC when I only had 320rwkw and im sure his wasnt standard.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
