anyone want to throw a 10 bux in a hat and have a crack at how many engines blow up at super lap?

i say 18

winner takes all or we spend all proceeds on piss and get on it?

It's certainly looking that way with at least 4 engines down in the past 4 weeks across carying classes. Probably more than that given limited info

I think a low 28 or high 27 will win it. I've already hear a rumour that the Tilton car has gone faster than Cyber Evo's 2011 time. Could just be rumour but It wouldn't surprise me.

I think some cars in open should really be pro, and we'll see a 33 in open, a few 34s and 35s and the rest spread out in the high 30s and low 40s.

I 39 in Clubsprint is possible too.

There was an EVO doing 1:40 on Saturday at the Creek at a CAMS Supersprint round that will be clubsprint class for time attack and had correct tyres on.

Hence why I predict a 39 is possible. may not happen, but cars are knocking on the door uf sub-40s, which is very impressive on a stree tryre!

I do believe a 39 is there in clubsprint if the track is good and temperatures are right, it is amazing what time attack has done in the last few years to development in supersprint based cars that included open cars. I really need to get my S15 finished but keep devolving new parts to keep up with the competition.

As I said I'll be impressed if it happens. Effectively the only aero allowed under club rules is a big wing so it means most of this time has to come from a combo of good grunt and exceptional pedal skills rather than from some computer generated design that maximizes potential grip.

Anyone have a picture of this EVO?

Yeah I saw the clip of that evo, I recon the driver was sitting a fair bit higher when he got back to the pits. I don't think scrutineers are expected to be structural engineers, only the check basic safety (seates bolted in, fire supression...etc)

Exactly, but you know come a big accident it is going to blow back that way. You hear it all the time "the scrutineers let it run".

There are plenty of good fabricators, and cage builders out there but you wonder what would happen to some of the cars if they went in at turn 1 Skaife-Winfield Commodore style etc. You prey another Todd Wilkes isnt on the cards as some of the cars have nothing structural forward of front suspension pick ups and you have to wonder how they would go in a big off doing sub 1;35s

This is from a google surch

I was standing at the staging area and watched it go by, the wing was held on by 2 small bolts either side and the bracket looked like 1mm alloy.

I would hazard to say that there may be a bit more strength in it next time out.

But there is no reason any of the EVO's can't run a cyber rear wing and front bar. That plus mega HP will make a quick car. The only real aero restriction I can see from past events is the rear bootlid and the front guards (which limit the tyre size).

I think all pro cars bar the cyber evo have pretty extensive cages. But it wouldn't be pretty if the cyber car went in hard

I remember reading somewhere that the Cyber Evo wouldn't conform to any regulations for any form of racing, it's that sparse on for safety......

In regards to Clubsprint, it's a joke they can do 39's. There should be no aero allowed and they should all be factory bodied. Call if Production if you must. Even the aero in Open will be over the top this year, and dangerous as everyone is hell bent on weight reduction. That Evo wing fail won't be the last over the next few weeks...

The lines between classes is becoming greyer every year.

my 2 bobs worth!

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
