Gho5t, thanks for that link, I was following it on yahoo auction.

Can anyone put me in contact with someone that has an N1 with the factory non-AC equipment still installed?

Post a larger and more clear pic...

But from what I think, it's either timing belt or gearbox oil...

Going to look at a KH2 (Gunmetal)1993 V spec this afternoon

It's got an R33 engine apparently but comes with the original engine...

Looks mostly original beside wheels but I think the original wheels come with it

120,000 odd kms

Ha not yet Anthony!

Bob, it did not go well. Car had been resprayed, in totally the wrong colour! The body was straight but it would need to be painted again, properly.

Overall in pretty poor condition and would of required waaay to much work to get back to a state I'd be remotely happy with.

Let me know if you guys come across any V specs or V spec II

But I am thinking it be the case of buying from Japan...

Did the V spec II come in KH2 colour??

Firstly, yes...... KH2 was available in V-Spec 2.

They do command a premium but like most R32's finding a good one takes time.

I'm just spending an insane amount of money on mine to get it right.

I'm past the point of no return and just couldn't be bothered starting all over again finding another. I know how hard it is.

I'll post up pics once completed, hopefully this week but in a nutshell, all rust areas will be repaired including the driver side rear quarter panel and sill etc.

The entire RHS will be painted as is the front bar.

Money pit but nearly there!

Bob.

out of curiosity Bob who is repairing / restoring your car?

out of curiosity Bob who is repairing / restoring your car?

My guy who I have been using for 7 years recently picked up AAMI and has become a preferred repairer and simply can't do private work at the moment.

I then asked around and was recommended a BMW preferred repairer who's credentials are excellent.

Unfortunately he is a fair bit dearer than my previous guy but I think will do a better job.

I've always struggled withmy previous guy's colour matching........... But as the old cliche goes, you get what you pay for.

Once I collect the car, I'll post up his details if I think he deserves it.

please do. Am keen to see the results

I think it's good value and if I was in the market I'd probably jump on it.

The only thing is to make sure it's a genuine V-Spec 2.

It doesn't take much to add wheels and Brembo brakes.

The spare wheel is yellow and I always thought the V-Specs got the larger black space saver to fit over the bigger brakes, I know mine has.

Yet, both my ADM's have the smaller yellow spares.

The blue ID plate on the fire wall will confirm its legitimacy.

Cheers,

Bob.

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.

    • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
